I remember when China Garden opened, it was a place people actually took their family’s to dine out for the night. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at this establishment. On my recent visit back to town, I decided to stop in. I was shocked to see how downhill this place has gone. As soon as you walk in, your bombarded with hand written notes instructing people to not bring outside drinks in, not to use the bathroom if your not a paying customer, & another one instructing you where to order with an arrow. Although it was winter, the floor was covered in mud/grime & most of the dining table were removed with limited seating. On the table walking in the front door, it seems they are using it for their soft drink storage with loose single bottles yet to be put in the refrigerator.

Although I ordered 3 beef & broc combinations, I received 3 chicken broc combinations with 3 burnt to the crisp eggrolls.

Yes, I’m very appreciative that a Chinese restaurant even exist in coudersport, but the owners of this place need to clean it up, step it up, & bring some life...

Our order: beef lo mein, general tsos combo, fried dumplings, beef moo shoo, sweet and sour chicken combo, boneless spare ribs combo.

-We did not get our lo mein, and noticed when we got home, an hour away! This was the item I was most looking forward to, so I was pretty disappointed the thing I ordered and paid for was not given to us, and could not be remedied. -The "pork fried rice" that came with the combo plates is not real pork fried rice, it's more like Spanish style rice (yellow) and hardly had any pork in it. -The egg rolls that came with the combos were just okay, a bit soggy, but that could've been from the long drive back home. -The boneless spare ribs were good. -the sweet and sour chicken contained small nuggets of chicken, nothing like the long spears/fingers we are used to. This item was also soggy, but we are attributing that to the long ride back. Overall, these were good. -The dumplings were okay, but I think we'd skip them in the future. -The moo shoo was good, not great. -The general tsos was okay, not at all...

We decided on our order prior to calling based upon the menu posted online. When we called to place the order we were told that was an example of a menu and not really what they have. Interesting but ok. We ordered pretty standard Chinese fare. Broccoli chicken, wonton soup and pork spare ribs and were told it would be 10 minutes. We arrived 10 minutes later to pickup our order and waited another 15 minutes for it to be ready. There were FOUR people eating in the dining area, the phone did not ring once while we were there and nobody else picked up an order while we were waiting. They probably were watching a YouTube video on how to make Chinese food. Unsuccessfull. The sauce on the broccoli chicken was vile. I can't even pinpoint what was in it that made it taste so off. I was half starving so I ate 1/4 of it. The wonton soup was also off tasting. I didn't eat the ribs but was told they were ok. The next morning we were both sick from the food. We will...

Atmosphere-3 stars- this is a dine in or take out establishment. I would guess it’s mainly takeout. It looks like your typical Chinese takeout joint which in my experience are kinda dirty looking inside and not very pleasing to the eyes. Service - 4 stars- very friendly lady behind the counter. Food was ready fairly quickly. Food- 4 stars- I got the garlic chicken with white rice and an egg roll. Everything was very good and I would eat here again- maybe not inside but definitely takeout.

I've traveled up and down the east and west coast of the United States. I've been to many mom and pop Chinese restaurants, one of my all time favorites being Wo-Hop in Manhattan. This place is on par with Wo-Hop. I ordered the Szechuan chicken extra spicy, and my dude behind the wok made it perfect. Super friendly, super fast, super tasty. Would recommend.
