Edit: about 4 weeks late; Stopped by for lunch again. Waitress was happy & busy. Took our order and as we waited an old man came in & sat at the counter. He was a little loud, but there was no one nearby to be bothered. A man came out of the back..the cook i assume & spoke very rudely to this old man who probably was a veteran. The cook spoke loudly & sternly telling the old gent to stay quiet or he'd be thrown out! I dont usually let other conversations bother me, but this man deserved respect! He may have had dementia or hearing loss & not realize how loud he is or perhaps PTSD from defending our country long ago? You dont speak to your customers in that tone! I wanted to leave immediately but my husband said to mind my business. I did express my dismay to the waitress who said she would tell the cook, but i felt she took his side. I WILL NOT PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN.
Looking for a quick bite to eat in an unfamiliar area an we Google up Gentlemen Farmer. Quick look while we drove, we saw 4 stars and thought we got lucky! We followed the Google map thru back roads only to make a big circle & come out exactly where our original appt was! We had read the reviews while driving and were shocked this place was still in business! We almost skipped stopping there..but it is one of the most affordable restaurants in RI!! It's a little diner stuck in a strip mall that seems to specialize in breakfast, BUT they offer quite a bit for lunch & supper too! From sandwiches to burgers to pasta to seafood & salads. Fresh food! I ordered the baked scrod at 6pm on a Thursday night..they were just unloading it off the truck. They offered several vegetables with the meals..from the owners garden, sliced and cooked fresh. My fish was quite large with 2 sides for either $13.95 or $15.95. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger with housemade coleslaw. It was a good looking burger. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us several times. The whole belly clams were $23.95 I heard the waitress say. Oh, the Portuguese Kale soup is excellent and that comes from a man who only ate his mother's kale soup for 60 years!
Please give this little restaurant a try sometime and post an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShould actually be no stars at all. Sat down at a table that was "cleaned" but still had crumbs left on it. Got coffee that wasnt bad but waitress went around to all the tables except ours to refill coffee. Ordered food but waited 45 minutes for it to be served. Pancakes were burned, scrambled eggs were cold and very watery, toast was barely toasted, bacon was burned and cold, and to top it off the homefries were not seasoned, cold and mushy. Talked to the waitress about the food who then told us that the place is a mess, very short staffed, the dishwasher didn't show up to work and then called to tell them that they quit, and she recommended that we don't go back there. As we were leaving the building, another customer walked out after almost chipping their tooth on a ham bone while eating corn beef hash. While leaving the parking lot, a waitress was outside taking the open flag down from the front of the building. Overpriced and disgusting, should've gone to Middle of nowhere...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been frequent customers here for quite sometime today my husband and I went to get breakfast for Motherās Day. We ordered, our meals came out, I must say the servings are definitely not what they used to be, my husband a few bites into his omelet is chewing his food and stops and pulls a long hair out of his mouth. I donāt know about you but that totally ruins any meal. He brought it to the attention of our waitress who my husband said went back to make the owner aware. We sat there for a bit expecting the owner to come over and apologize but never did instead the waitress comes over to get our payment and says to my husband oh I will take 1/2 off of your meal. What?? Only half off? Your food was contaminated with someoneās long hair and youāre only going to take half off? Sorry thatās not how you treat your customers if you expect them to return. Needless to say we will not...
