We went to Woods tonight (Saturday) around 5:30. Party of seven, though past experiences with groups at Woods have always been great, even on weekend nights.
Genuinely at a loss. The waitress was incredibly dismissive and omitted major details. Didn’t tell us until we were ordering our meals that the grill wasn’t working, so half of the menu was unavailable. Totally fine if there are technical or logistical issues, but be honest about them. We waited 20 minutes to order drinks, another ten to receive them, which again, isn’t super unusual. During that time, she made no attempt to mention the grill, despite the fact that it had apparently been an issue all night.
We waited over an hour for food, which admittedly isn’t insane for a Saturday night. But she never came to the table of her own volition and we had to chase her down, and we never do that. We are a fairly passive group of people who have all worked in food service, so we’re all reticent to bother people in the service industry unnecessarily. Our waters and other drinks were not refilled. She forgot one of our drinks.
When the wait for our food approached the 90 minute mark, we voiced a desire to leave, at which point our food suddenly arrived, fresh out of the kitchen and steaming hot.
The table next to us was doted on to a degree that made us feel ashamed to be there. We were apparently less than them in the eyes of the staff, and it sucked. For every time the waitress walked right by us, she made sure to stop at their table.
The final straw was, after asking to split checks at the start of the meal (only a two-way split), the waitress came over after we had asked for boxes. We were informed after two hours that there was suddenly a mandatory 20% gratuity for splitting checks, before tip.
I’ve never left a restaurant without tipping at least 20%, but tonight was the first time I opted out of tipping, after being told that we were required to do so for gratuity TWO HOURS after we’d asked to initially split the check.
Tonight sucked. Thanks Woods, and thanks to the black-haired girl serving the table next to the live music corner. We weren’t even told your name....

Read moreCant see how you could even .0001% disagree when your response is 8 months past due lol . And never made comments in the past. I know what's going on in my businesses by second, minute, hr vs days months or nearly a whole yr But i digress nice try to deflect. I'm changing my review from a 5 to a 1. Yep a 1. The owner/Mgr should really educacate the staff on guest service. Mainly the bartenders on treating all customers equally. I frequent this establishment once or twice a week and have been doing ao for past 3 yrs. But past 2 or 3 times I've had to go get food at another local competitor due to not being checked in with. I've waited sometimes up to an hr plus after ordering a drink before being checked up on agian. From someone who manages i would never allow or tolerate anyone of my staff members ignoring guest. Treat all guests equally and...
