Hamilton's Steak House — Restaurant in Covina

Shame on this restaurant 😕. We ordered 2 prime rib round cap dinners & a rib-eye dinner with lobster.

Bread served with cold butter, can't spread cold butter on lukewarm bread.

Then, out comes a sirloin steak instead of rib-eye, which was super over cooked. Plus they gave me oil instead of butter for my lobster. Whhaattt?!! I explained to the waiter that it was over cooked and not rib-eye. He goes back and comes to me a second time with sirloin. I immediately explained that its again sirloin not rib-eye. He tried to convince me its just their cut. Which I promptly explained that I know the difference between the two cuts.

I asked him to take it back and reduce my ticket. I did eat the lobster. No management nor chef ever came out to talk with us and the poor waiter was clearly beside himself. He was gracious enough to stand there quietly while I explained the disappointment of such a high priced restaurant trying to slip these obvious things past paying customers.

Nonetheless, they gave me a credit (ish) for their scandalous attempt and still charged for my oiled butter lobster tail a full price like a side order.

Would NOT recommend anyone who likes rib-eye vs sirloin steak to dine here or anyone who thinks they're going to get what they paid for. Definitely not a quality restaurant. I was super bummed.. shame,...

Hamilton's is awesome! I could see by the website photos that the food and the atmosphere was going to be good, HOWEVER, we were so impressed with the entire experience. It was a celebration of life lunch for about 30 of us and Marlene was so good at helping me plan. She took care of everything for us! The room we had was beautiful, cozy and spotless! Marlene helped me to set up a menu ahead of time and she took care of every detail, even making sure my flowers for the tables were kept refrigerated from the day before. When we arrived everything was waiting for us! The service was outstanding. Leo was so kind and helpful making sure each guest had exactly what they wanted. We ordered bottles of the house wine, which also was very good! But the food!!!! So good. We had the Chateau Top Sirloin - AMAZING . . . we had the Salmon, also AMAZING . . . and tried the Chicken Marsala . . . . AMAZING . . . even the Penne alla Vodka was AMAZING. I came to meet an old friend who I had not seen in years. The place seemed pretty quiet and only one other party came in while we dined. The table was well set but that is about where the positive comments stop. I asked for a spirit list and was handed a laminated paper with mediocre cocktails without one brand name spirit listed. I asked again if they had a spirit list and waiter pointed at laminated cocktail menu. I asked if they had any bourbon and waiter said "yeah". I asked which ones. He couldn't name any of them?!? When ordering he recommended a steak by the name "Monaco Ribeye" that was not on the menu..... I ordered the "ribeye" med rare which he said comes with two sides I asked what vegetables they had he said broccoli and carrots. I said I'll have that for both sides.... It came out with asparagus. My friends steak was at the wrong temp. It said on menu it comes with horseradish but it didn't come out until I asked for it.
