China City — Restaurant in Covington

Extremely fast. Delicious. Definitely try the Singapore Mei Fun. It's spicy, smells divine, and comes with a little bit of every meat (It has shrimp for all you allergic people). It's like a combination fried rice but with noodles instead. Every time I get it at work, the smell draws everyone to me just to ask "Wow, what did you get? It smells amazing!"

They can accommodate almost every request (As far as I've been able to tell), and they never disappoint. Some of my coworkers also love the Egg Foo Young, Beef and Broccoli, General Tsao, Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Bourbon Chicken (My all time favorite. Sometimes the flavor is a bit much for me, so I "dilute" it by getting white rice instead of pork fried rice)

Their wonton soup is to die for. Although for any vegetarians out there, I feel as if there aren't enough tofu (bean curd) options. However, I'm sure you could ask to replace any meat in almost any dish with tofu. Just call and ask. They're very helpful, and it's the easiest way to place an order.

This is possibly the longest review I've ever written, so do my cramping fingers a favor and try them out (especially during lunch). I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed. If you are, try another dish before you cross them off your list. There's something for everyone.

3 year later update: Ever since they changed ownership, they’re not as accommodating on changes, but the options are still plentiful (you can still call and ask, but be aware they’re not as nice as the previous owners). The food is still great, and I’m still willing to travel to eat there.

We were in Hammond and I were willing to drive to Covington for good Chinese food. Per the reviews online, we chose China City. The drive is worth spending your money on good food. The man answered the phone and not only was super polite, but also got the order correct the first time we told it to him. He listened! It was awesome to be heard. When we arrived, he let me know they were currently cooking the rest of the order and just a couple of minutes later it was ready. He made sure the order was correct and I paid him. The young woman that came to the counter with me was also just as kind. When we got home, everything was perfectly cooked, tasted fantastic and looked as good. Well, we ordered from this restaurant based on all of the fantastic reviews. Quite frankly, I have no earthly clue how anyone rated this above two stars. The coconut shrimp was 99% dough, the shrimp and lobster sauce was nothing more than several shrimp thrown in a container of egg drop soup. Everything we had seemed like it was pre-packaged, pre-prepared and just thrown in a microwave or fryer. The fast food, drive-through places are much better. Would love to find a decent Chinese restaurant in the Covington area however, this place was...
