We've wanted to try Jose's for sometime now. It's an hour drive from us, but after attending the Covington Chocolate Tour yesterday we had our chance. We were so excited to try their Veggie Tacos as we love Cactus Tacos and not very many places have them. We were informed that they don't have the ingredients for those because "the trucks just don't deliver them anymore" and "at some point they may have to work on that somehow". We were told we could have a tortilla with lettuce, onion, and cilantro on it instead, but they didn't have anything else to make a veggie taco with. That was a less inviting option so we asked about the burritos. We stressed that we are vegetarian and I have a Tomato allergy. We were assured they were safe. We also ordered 2 Elotes and the Guacamole without Tomatoes. The order came up and the Guacamole had Tomatoes. The cashier was very apologetic and asked the cook to remake it as she had specified on the ticket. The cook was argumentative with her, but eventually remade it. Once we received everything, we split the burrito, and found it missing the lettuce and very light on the onions and Cilantro. It was otherwise tasty, but considering I had an allergic reaction, I am pretty sure there was Tomato in the rice, even though they said there wasn't. The Guacamole was also very light on the Onions and had almost no Cilantro. It was very fresh Avocado though, and the onion we did get, was also very fresh. The Chips were a mix of fresh and stale, so every chip was a surprise. The Elote was the absolute saddest disappointment. I love Corn. I love Elote. What we were served was not the Elote I am familiar with. I was expecting hot corn with mayo, cheese, tajin, maybe some butter. What we got was extremely cold. Water was dripping from it, watering done the sauce that had been poured over it. The sauce appeared to be Spicy Ranch with a sprinkle of Chili Powder on it. It was extremely bland. I'm not usually a salt person, but it needed it badly. I opened my first salt packet in probably 10 years in hopes of saving it, but sadly no. It was so bland that I left it uneaten. The person I was with declared their's the worst they've ever had too and deemed it horrible and inedible. It's the only time in my entire life that I did not finish corn. The other couple we were with also had an issue with getting their order correct the first time, but in the end they did enjoy their tacos. The cashier was nice, but not very well informed on the food. The cook seemed miserable and angry the whole time we were there. The dining room was cute, but the bathrooms were in need of a good cleaning and a replenishment of paper towels. I do hope they can work out their issues, as it was a cute place, and the idea of getting a Cactus and Poblano Taco...

This little Mexican restaurant offers quick service (order at the counter) and delicious burriots, quesadillas, tacos, and more. The salsa verde is amazing, and the meat is seasoned perfectly. Here you will NOT find the slops of flavorless, lard-laden refried beans or B-quality meat found in other Mexican restaurants, but instead tender chicken and authentic, exciting flavors. The portions are a little hit-or-miss, with side dishes being enormous enough to share and a la carte tacos being tiny, so it makes sense to ask about the sizes. Jose's offers a huge selection of Mexican sodas and horchacha, but there are unfortunately no sugar-free drink options except bottled water for diabetics. Still, the food is so amazing and fresh that I cannot help but give...

The single BEST Mexican food in Tipton county, probably the entire mid south. The rice is inconsistent but everything else is straight fire every time we go there. Quesadilla? Fire. Steak Tacos? Fire. Al Pastor? Fiyaaah. Carne Asada fries? You bet they are fire!! Writing this review just makes me want to go back right now. Also the tacos are literally the same price as Taco Bell but they are 100 percent superior to any other tacos in the area! What more do you need to know?

Update: Years later this is still my favorite in Tipton county, and is consistently good food. Tonight however was an exception, tonight the kitchen must have been on one because I just had the best steak tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Amazing even...

Love, love, love the food here. It reminds me of the taco shops in San Diego or Tijuana. By that, I mean the food is fantastic. The service is a little slow, especially on busy days but it is worth every minute of wait time. Everything I have tried here is delicious. The only thing that is missing is the salsa bar and hot carrots. I was not super excited to live away from the style of Mexican food that I love... But this brought me so much joy. The tacos Al pastor is so much like my favorite tacos de adobada... The carne asada and shrimp tacos were tasty. I'm looking forward to trying the birria tacos acá carne asada fries next.

We had the asada fries, 4 types of tacos (steak, shrimp, carnitas, lengua) and my boys had a cheese quesadilla. Amazing tacos and asada fries!!!! Wow! The carnitas and steak tacos were my favorite of the two. Their salsas were the perfect compliment, with a squeeze of fresh lime. The asada fries were perfect. Full of flavor and quite filling! Great atmosphere and customer service. Will absolutely come back very soon!!!
