A Disrespectful and Unjust Experience at North Park Lounge Cranberry
I am writing this review to share one of the most disrespectful and unjust experiences I have ever had, which occurred at North Park Lounge Cranberry. I rarely feel the need to leave such a detailed account, but the way I was treated by the management at this establishment is simply unacceptable.
I went to North Park Lounge to drop off my girlfriendâs phone, as she works there and had accidentally left it with me. Unfortunately, she hadnât arrived yet, and since she didnât have her phone, I was unable to communicate with her to confirm her arrival time. While waiting, I decided to stay in my car and fly my droneâa hobby of mine and something I enjoy doing to pass the time. I was completely unaware that this innocent activity would escalate into a situation where I was harassed, profiled, and even had the police called on me.
Hereâs what happened: as I was waiting and flying my drone, the manager of the establishment apparently felt the need to call the authorities. I was completely oblivious to this because, as far as I knew, I hadnât done anything wrong. When I eventually noticed the manager walking past my car, I attempted to ask him a question to clarify what was going on. Shockingly, he ignored me. Feeling that something was off, I asked him, âIs there a problem?â His response left me stunned: âThe police have been called.â
Naturally, I asked, âFor what?â The manager then proceeded to accuse me of suspicious behavior. He claimed I had come to the establishment inquiring about a coworker who was âfreshly an adultâ and then âstarted flying a drone, which I know is illegal.â These statements were both offensive and blatantly false.
First, his assertion that flying a drone is illegal was completely untrue. I am FAA Part 107 certified, which means I am legally authorized to operate a drone for both commercial and recreational purposes. Even if I werenât certified, flying below 120 meters (400 feet) in unrestricted airspace is perfectly legal for recreational flyers. Anyone familiar with DJI drones knows that the devices are programmed not to even take off in restricted zones. The managerâs ignorance of these regulations is no excuse for his accusations.
Second, his tone and attitude about my girlfriendâreferring to her as âfreshly an adultââwas not only unprofessional but also highly inappropriate. She is an adult, fully capable of making her own decisions, and the way he implied some sort of impropriety on my part was deeply insulting and uncalled for.
This entire situation escalated into me being harassed and racially profiled. I was there with a simple purpose: to return a phone to my girlfriend when she arrived at work. Instead, I was treated like a criminal, humiliated, and made to feel unwelcome. The fact that the police were involved in a situation where no laws were broken and no harm was caused is beyond comprehension. Whatâs worse, the manager showed no accountability or understanding of how wrong his actions were. He didnât offer an apology or explanationâjust more accusations and hostility.
How is this behavior acceptable, let alone constitutional? As a customer and someone who was there to do something helpful for a loved one, I expected basic respect and decency. Instead, I was met with prejudice, ignorance, and an abuse of power. This type of behavior from a manager reflects poorly on the entire establishment and sends a clear message that they do not value fairness, professionalism, or customer care.
I would strongly caution anyone from visiting North Park Lounge Cranberry. If this is how they treat people who have done absolutely nothing wrong, I shudder to think how they handle other situations. Management needs to be held accountable for their actions, and this establishment needs serious training on customer service, drone laws, and the importance of treating all people with respect. Until then, I will not be returning, and I urge others to think twice before supporting...
Read moreWORST customer service I have ever experienced at a bar/restaurant. We had a planned 30th birthday party for my sister at the bamboo bar. We came in a limo as part of her celebration and when we arrived the bouncer carded our group. (We watched him not card other people walking into the bar). My sister's license expired the day prior and they would not let her in despite knowing she is of age and even after she confirmed it online on the DMV website. The bouncer was incredibly rude to us and would not let us speak to a manager stating "the manager doesn't want to speak to you". Some of her guests were already at the bar and overheard the bar tenders mocking my sister for showing up in a limo and arriving with an expired license. It was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. We had planned for 40 to 50 people to arrive at this establishment and had to figure out where we were going to go instead and how to transport everyone. Luckily there was another bar in walking distance, The Wind Haven. I would highly recommend the Wind Haven. They had great customer service and treated us very well there. I would NEVER recommend...
Read moreThis has been a Cranberry Township staple since I can remember, I know this location switched ownership, but many recipes and menu items have stayed the same. I ordered the Pear and Beet salad with a Honey Vinaigrette Dressing which I would most definitely order again and a wonderful soup that was a delightful change from the norm: Chicken Ginger Quinoa or Ginger Chicken Quinoa. I do not like a strong Ginger taste so I asked for a sample before ordering and they obliged. It was so flavorful and had only a hint of ginger which made me want more! It had chicken, carrots, celery, and quinoa. My friend ordered a Steak Salad and the portion was huge, which for the price, you definitely get more than you can eat! I saw many customers with takeout containers. Overall our service was excellent, food worth a visit, and although the parking lot was packed, many people were at the Deck House (lower bar/restaurant) watching sports or eating/drinking on a Saturday. There was plenty of seating in the main restaurant. Also, check out their daily and weekly specials, they update constantly on...
