Twin Oaks Restaurant — Restaurant in Cranston

1st of all, I just wanna say that the 1st server I had was pleasant to work with. He listened to everything we had to say, I have been frequenting this establishment for about 20 yrs or so, Last nite was the worst ever!!! 2nd We order appetizer came out great, not saying anything bad about the food its the service that really sucked last nite. The Server we had at first was so pleasant and kind and made us laugh. Now lets get back to the way the 2nd server treated us, My lady was celebrating her bday last nite and I wanted it to be a special nite for her, first dinner then maybe a lil dancing. So we order the entrees, she had the lobster tails and asked for real melted butter on the side. They came out with the lobster tails drenched in Butter and she is the kind of woman that will just take it anyway, but me im not so soft, I sent that food back, now its my turn. I ordered the Rack of Lamb roasted potatoes and sauteed spinach. I got the most Raw under cooked rack of lamb I ever seen, I was eating straight flesh... Disgusting!! I sent that back, and mind you I had the spinach not even touched, and the potatoes we both tasted a few. So I tell them I would like it to be medium well please, it comes back but now we both have a bad taste in our mouth, they never even put my spinach back on the plate, and the 2nd server starts to bad mouth the 1st server which was a total turn off! So now I dont even wanna eat there and were about to tell them give us 2 boxes to go please. There was another party next to us that was celebrating a older womans bday also. Here comes the worst part of the nite, you think this was bad so far? Yeah allright here comes the anchor! So a group of guys come out and start to sing happy bday, with a lil dish with a candle in it, we pay it no mind, but what bothered me was when I started to record, one of the kids was like he didnt wanna sing it on camera, this is someones bday, and you dont wanna sing? Continues to put his hand in his pockets and hides behind other coworkers.. no worries, they sang and left, so i said to my lady, they forgot my spinach, and she says look, they gave me a f*ing bowl of whip creme and a candle!! Now thats not it, so were gathering the bill together and the server comes rushing and says ill take that.. I said not yet.. he walks away and we gather our things and i leave a 2% tip, and thats only because of the 1st server!! I was so bothered by the service here, I will not be returning here ever again, and I didnt like the fact the lady had so much cake next to us...lol... I hope you are reading this and find a way to make your establishment a better place to enjoy a bday celebration!!

P.S. Hire some woman servers they are sometimes more pleasant...

Last night my mom and I went to twin oaks. I have never been there before but wanted a nice meal with a water view. We get there and the parking lot is completely packed not one spot to be had. I thought to myself wow this must be the place to be. I could not have been anymore incorrect. We go inside and to my disbelief there is no wait. Excellent. We get seated right away and have our drink order taken. Our waiter comes over and introduces himself as Vic. We get our drinks and order our food. Vic is not writing anything down and has to come back to the table 3 times to confirm what I ordered. I order steak with fries and broccoli on the side. A little time passes and our food comes out. I get my steak and my mom gets her eggplant. We are told that the side dishes will be right out. 10 minutes goes by and finally our side dishes arrive brought to our table by a food runner who was not our waiter. I was given mashed potatoes and broccoli. Not what I had asked for. I told the runner that I ordered fries and broccoli and he takes the mashed potatoes and broccoli away and another while later brings back only fries. At this point Vic comes back and I’m a little confused because so much is happening so I’m trying to sort it out in my head and Vic starts raising his voice at me cutting off what I was saying to say “what do you want sir, what do you want sir? Tell me what you want”. after that I told him I wanted the bill because I was completely and utterly dumb founded that he just spoke to me that way. I don’t understand for a second how this place has such a good name when such rude condescending people are working there. I will never ever go back… which is awful to say because if it was not for Vic the experience would have been a total 10/10. Vic please find a new job or change the way your speak to...

I've lived in Rhode Island since the 80s, on and off (I'm 70). Yesterday I was taking my son and his girlfriend out for lunch. I've heard a lot about how great Twin Oaks is, so when they suggested it, I was excited. They've been there about 8 times. The restaurant was fairly busy for a weekday lunch, which I thought was a good sign. But... To start with, the host walked us halfway to the table and said it's the one in the middle of the (large) room, by the window and off he went. Strike 1. There were only two place settings, and without sitting down I could see one knife was dirty. Strike 2. The host didn't come back with another place setting. Strike 3. Waiter came to take our order and I asked for a clean knife. We ordered 2 sodas and a Shirley Temple. I joked with the waiter and said she's not old enough to drink. When he came back, he had 3 sodas. Strike 4. While waiting for the waiter, I noticed that the bread plate was also dirty. There was a small glob of butter on top, and about an inch size splotch of crumbs stuck to the bottom. Strike 5. My son's girlfriend asked for extra sauce on the side of her entree because she's had it and the chicken is a bit dry. Meal came, no side of sauce. She reminded the waiter and he didn't come back. Strike 6. Finally asked the kid refilling coffees if he would let our waiter know we were still waiting for sauce, 5 minutes later. Kid brought it himself.

I ordered veal, spinach, and fries. Veal was good. Spinach was canned and slimy. Several fries had large rotten spots on them, and they were soggy. 10 minutes in air fryer still didn't make them right. I was so disappointed with the whole experience. Lunch, no alcohol or dessert, was $73+. Prices are in line with places like Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse, but food and service...
