One of everything? New business, local family, started as a food truck. We went in there on the second night they were open and ordered a lot of food to try a bit of everything. Cubano: I remember the Cubano from their food truck operation so it was something I ordered straight away and I was just as pleased as I remember, really good. Marios Nacho: My wife suprized me with a nacho order and it was really delicious and glad we ordered it. Fajita: I ordered the combo fajita which came with a lot of onion and pepers which I was really happy with the shrimp were well seasoned and the skirt stake was the real deal. Veggie Tacos: My wife ordered the veggie avocado tacos and was happy with them as well. Beans: The beans are black Beans like you would get a chipotle so don't expect the refried Beans if they come with an order. Rice: Was fine nothing out of the ordinary. Peach Margeherita: It was really delicious we ordered the 32 oz which was $25 but the quality was really good and the pricing was inline with what you would get anywhere else who serves you a topself Margherita product. Instead of getting 2.5 at $9 we ordered one at $25. Tres Leches: Really good. Crumb held up but was so liquid, condensed milk on plate was really good. Churros: Fresh fried, crunchy and fell apart soft in the middle, chocolate was delicious it was really nice. We will be back for the Mario nachos and the Cubano for sure and the desserts, the owners were nice and the employees were friendly. This is just the begining for this place and I know great things are on the horizon for them. Looking forward to trying the other proteins on the menu and a burrito like I would normally order it from any mexican taco joint: Onion, creama, cheese, and extra cilantro. Took a picture with the owners too.

Came in for karaoke night and had a great time with my kiddo. These are the details: *Atmosphere: Very Cool! Great place for an adult birthday with the day-of-the-dead, graffiti-style art. I don’t know any Mexican place like this, refreshing. *Drinks - 1/2 priced margaritas on Thursday so I got the Mango Mint. It was awesome, better than I expected! And they use fresh le, not packaged sweet and sour mix. This makes 100% difference (especially if you get heartburn.) *Food: I got the flautas. They were crisp, delicious, and beautiful. A+ On presentation. The flouta meal is definitely a lighter dinner, but it was plenty for me. I was definitely full, but not taking leftovers -which is what I expected and wanted. Little one got kids mini-tacos with fries - looked delicious, but I didn’t get a chance to try. She ate them all, with horchata (all kids love horchata - get one!) *Service: Staff seem friendly and knowledgeable. *karaoke night was fun and appropriate the kids. Always a plus on a mother-daughter date. I will give this place 5 Stars based on this meal and interaction. Pricing was fair, IMO. We’re all definitely adjusting to inflation after the last few months and this seems to be the new standard. -Plus it’s more of an upscale place, but not too expensive. Not a hole-in-the-wall taqueria. Good middle-ground, I think

**CHIPS & SALSA ARE NOT COMPLIMENTARY** We went to Mario’s on their opening day for lunch. Food - EXPENSIVE. Extremely disappointing to go to a Mexican restaurant these days and not be able to enjoy complimentary chips/salsa while dining in. The food was extremely pricey, which we understand in today’s economy, but to charge $4 for a soufflé cup of what appeared to be yellow squeeze cheese seems a bit outrageous. The side of rice ($3), very very small cup, was also a bit disappointing to see. The grilled chicken/pollo tacos are incredible ($3), highly suggest. Atmosphere - It was a nice, bright atmosphere and lots of employees ready to jump in wherever needed. No lack of customer service, great to see these days. Very welcoming young lady, made you smile upon arrival. Shout out to her! I can see this restaurant being successful in this location IF they make their prices a bit more reasonable. There was an older couple dining in while we were there who had many remarks throughout the experience about the prices on the menu. **FEE CHARGED TO PAY WITH CARD** — Be alert, the CC fee seemed to be on many people’s bills even before they made their payment-type decision —

BEWARE!!!!! If I could give a zero I would. I went here today and grabbed a bite, unfortunately a fly landed on my food and i told the server. The manager (white lady maybe hispanic) came out afterwards and asked what was wrong with my food very aggressively. I let her know that a fly hand landed on my plate, her response was that she couldnt control where flies land and became very angry with me. She was upset that the server had offered to take the enchiladas off our ticket. I told her that the Department of Human Services will be notified about her blatant awareness of the flies and trying to get me to eat the food a fly just landed on. She walked away and came out again even more upset. She said they will just remake my order instead of taking it off. I told her I didn’t want that and so she kicked my mom and me out. I started recording the lady as she was being very aggressive towards us and wanted evidence just in case something happened. She called the police on us then stood behind my car saying we wouldn’t leave the restaurant when we were already outside. She started saying very offensive things like i was mentally unstable and made racial comments towards me. She told the police that “this is what black people do, they go around trying to get free meals”. I am completely disgusted by this establishments behavior. As a local resident I cannot believe that we allowed for someone like this to own a business in our city. It is very sad to see that people will be so nasty and inhumane towards others. I hope no one has to experience what I went through. No one should have to eat food that a fly lands on or eat in an insanitary restaurant. If you make her mad she will kick you out and put a trespassing notice on you. After all of this we still paid for the food and did not respond to any of the racial and disgusting comments made...

We had a very mixed experience with Mario's. For the negative; They are AMAZINGLY EXPENSIVE. We were quoted to bring them out to our business to celebrate out team, a minimum of $800.00. We paid them a $347.00 deposit in advance. During the event we have 42 people eat off thier truck, FOURTY-TWO, remember its basically a Taco/Burrito Truck.

At the end I was presented with a bill for just over $1,200.00 and I gave Mario's $1,350.00 to provide them with a Tip. Now, at $1,200 the cost per person was $28.57 per person, almost every item on the menu was under $15, but some people got Elote or a drink.

The issue was after. When we called to get our $347 deposit returned, we were initially told I only paid them $900 cash, which was clearly not true (we have emails for this). They then retracted and said we did give them the $1350.00 but they forgot to charge us tax so they would return $100 of our deposit. That would have made a meal for 42 people cost $34,45 per person; NOT.

So, my advice is either don't give them money up front or don't do business with them at all.

Now, what I can say is that most of the 42 people who at there live in McHenry county and they loved the food. We have received numerous compliments on the food from our team and partners. However, we shared with them the deplorable actions of ownership, and every single one of them vowed to stay away.

Moral of the story, each individual person ultimately influences up to 100 others, if not more, don't overcharge your customers so blatantly. And, thank you American Express for going to bat for us and getting...
