Papa Saverio's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

Food was good, place was clean, service was poor. My wife, oldest daughter, and I came in for a small bite to eat for lunch. There were only a couple of people who appeared to be eating on their lunch break inside the place. My family and I get to the counter and ordered our pizza. I then asked for some drinks. The way the lady spoke seemed as if we were an annoyance or as if she didn't want to be there. I'm a very passive person and usually stuff like this just flies by me without me noticing. However, I noticed it right away.

After we got our order, my family and I sat in the outside patio area. It was a nice environment, and as mentioned, the place looked very clean. The pizza was big and filling. As soon as we were done, we threw away our trash and left. No other interaction whatsoever with the staff on whether everything was good or if we needed anything else. Most likely won't be back...

I stopped in with a coworker to grab a slice, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing due to the behavior of the young woman working the register. She was noticeably rude, lacked basic customer service skills, and came across as irritated from the moment we stepped up to order.

When I tried to clarify that our orders were separate, her only response was a curt “yeah, cash or card,” without making any effort to listen or engage. My coworker then asked to add a drink, and she responded with visible frustration, as if we were inconveniencing her by simply ordering food.

I understand that everyone has off days and outside stress can bleed into work—but it is never acceptable to treat customers with such attitude. A little professionalism and kindness go a long way, especially in customer-facing roles. Disappointed with the...

I don’t usually eat food like pizza from restaurants that I’m not familiar with, but a close friend of mine’s recommended them so of course I tried it bcz she always seems to have a great judgment when recommending anything! I must say Jeff was very polite as well as my pizza was made to my liking, that meant a lot bcz not many pizza places makes my pizza the way I want it bcz it’s normally not the norm but Jeff made sure it was done right and that I was please!
