3 meals one appetizer. The cheese sticks were spot on, delicious.. I ordered the Fiesta Lime chicken the chicken was really good but the rice was dry and hard and inedible. My husband asked for a medium well burger his fries were cold, hard and untouched and it would be tough to call the burger medium, no way it was medium well. My g'son specifically asked server if they had popcorn shrimp instead of regular shrimp the server said yes. We asked how much because it wasn't on the menu. He said 13 dollars well definitely no more than 14. It came with fries and cole slaw. I said he won't eat cole slaw, can he get anything else? He said he could get extra fries, green beans or mac n cheese, so he picked the mac n cheese. Food shows up and immediately my grandson freaks out because it's tail on shrimp. The server did offer to replace it but we waited 35-40 mins already so I asked the boy if I could just cut the tails off. He agreed to try one, made a typical kid ick face but said he would eat them. His fries were cold too but he loves fries and didn't care. He ate 3 or 4 shrimp and wouldn't eat the rest. That's my fault I should have just sent them back. The mac n cheese was actually penne pasta with a melted alfredo type sauce, melted cheddar and topped with bacon. The kid took a bite and said no so that wasn't eaten. I thought it tasted good but I can't eat pasta...so that was uneaten.
When the bill came in I was peeved that the shrimp was 14.49 and they upcharged a 2.49 for the mac n cheese. So, when the server came around I reminded him I asked what he could get instead of cole slaw and he said the mac n cheese but, never mentioned the 2.49 upcharge. I swear he looks at me and says well it's on the menu. I told him I wasn't reading the menu I asked him, besides he didn't even like it, I'm not paying for that Mac n Cheese. He sends the manager over who agreed to take the item off. I still tipped the server ten bucks on my initial $50 charge but, left feeling like darn I dropped more than half a C note on a meal not worth eating. I am in no hurry to return to Applebee's and that server needs trained on how to deal with billing issues and unhappy customers. We are NEVER looking for something free but they can recognize when a meal wasn't enjoyed and at least ask if there is a way to make amends. For me, I am happy when they just acknowledge me and ask instead of ignoring full...
Read moreEdit: The waitperson entered the wrong salads for us. We wanted the Asian and got the Mexican. They are making it right by us and we will return to try the Asian salads. I'm sure the chicken will be fresher next time, too. EDIT #2. I WAS SENT A MUCH LESS THAN APPROPRIATE $20 E-GIFT CARD. IT WAS HALF OF WHAT TWO OF THOSE SALADS COST. WITH TAX AND TIP, THEY WERE WELL OVER $20 EACH.
My friend and I have eaten here twice in the past 3 weeks. First time was the AYCE shrimp and/or riblets. Terrible. Last night was 2 cocktails each, queso/chips, and 2 salads to the tune of $90.03. The waitperson was very good, so she got an $18 tip (20%). The food was less than par. We both ordered the Asian Chicken Salad. No where did it say it was spicy. We both enjoy hot, spicy food, but neither of us wanted it last night. It was overly spiced with herby green stuff and likely cayenne pepper. We both brought home the majority of our salads. I just tried to eat mine for lunch and it was inedible. At no time was the leftover salad mishandled and was refrigerated promply after leaving Applebee's. The middle of the night was memorable with absolute liquid poo and nausea. The chicken was way past it's prime. No good. They obviously tried to cover it up with spices. I can tell you I will never return to this establishment. There are way too many great choices around here. We went there for convenience, being close to where we were prior. Next time, I/we will go the extra few miles for food that is not spoiled. I cannot get the foul taste out of...
