I’ve shopped at Bealls for years, but a recent visit made me question how this location approaches customers and respectful treatment.
During a recent visit to find something for an upcoming wedding, I took time browsing various sections. I have always enjoyed this location for it's diverse, rotating inventory, and reasonable prices (I love their Betsy Johnson purses, and they always have Marc Jacobs/Versace Perfume). However, while browsing I noticed an employee repeatedly following me without speaking, pretending to shop but clearly monitoring me. It became increasingly uncomfortable, especially when I realized she was tracking my movements from aisle to aisle, even through the furniture section.
While I understand that precautions are necessary and that offering assistance may not always be standard, employees mimicking customer behavior without genuine engagement raises a red flag, creating an uncomfortable, embarrassing, and ultimately unwelcoming experience.
The ironic truth is, I sometimes struggle to initiate interactions or ask for help. Ironically, if someone had simply asked if I needed assistance, they might have supported me far more effectively, and with empathy rather than suspicion.
I look forward to visiting the store in the future, but I am somewhat thrown off my tea after...
Read moreBealls (outlet) is a great store. If you try it once, you're hooked. Their merchandise is great and the prices are even better. This store has a little bit of everything in it. It's like Christmas walking through because there are so many things you'd like to have but you couldn't carry them all out. The people that work there are very nice too. You always get a friendly hello when you enter. I have a habit of getting stuck at the back where they have a huge selection of cookware, art, furniture, you name it. I've been told that at the other end of the strip mall is the regular Bealls, which is not an outlet store. I haven't tried it yet but I am so happy with the outlet end, I haven't had a reason to go down there yet. I will definitely...
Read moreI went into Bealls Outlet to purchase a recliner today. When I got to the furniture area there was a man moving tables across the area from the chair. When I sat in the chair the man became huffy and I asked him if I was in in his way. He didn't answer me but let out a snide huff shaking his head negativly at me. I got right up and apologized for getting in his way and he just started laughing at me. I said I was trying to buy the recliner and he huffed turned his back on me and started laughing again. I will not shop in this store again due to the extreme unprofessionalism and RUDE staff. This blew me away. Absolutely no excuse for this type...
