My wife and I stopped for lunch today. She ordered the Speedy Gonzalez lunch special (enchilada, taco and beans). The price was right, $5.75 I think so she was happy. I ordered make your own combo for $9.99. Mine included a beef enchilada, a beef taco, a chile relleno, rice and beans. I initially judge a Mexican restaurant by their enchiladas...I love enchiladas. The sauce on this one was very tomato-y (is that a word?) as apposed to being chile based. It tasted OK but I prefer sauce made from red chilies. It was pretty good for around the midwest but it ain't no New Mexico or West Texas enchilada! The beef in Bothell the enchilada and the taco was well seasoned. The chile relleno tasted above average although this was the first one I ever had to cut with a knife. The beans and rice were just average, nothing outstanding but well prepared. Our server got us a seat immediately and had our drink orders delivered within a couple of minutes. The food arrived before we finished half of the chips. Our server was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The decor was over the top. Overall, for being in the midwest this place was well...

Went in, took a while to be seated, no biggie because they were clearly busy at that time. Took nearly 45 minutes after ordering to get any food, one person in our party did not get their food. Was told “they are remaking that now, it was messed up so I sent it back. Should be out any minute” Everyone who had food ate, to keep it from getting cold. Another 45 minutes later, the missing plate still hadn’t been brought out and the only answer we got was “they messed it up the first time, they are fixing it and will have it out in a few minutes”. Ended up asking for it to just be put in a to go box, and for our checks. Another nearly 15 minutes later we went to pay, and then the missing food was brought over. While waiting to pay, they took that food back, and brought us a different box stating they mixed them up. Went home (literally 2 miles from the restaurant) and the food was cold, the tortillas so soggy they were inedible. Was overall a rough experience, with long wait times, service that was mediocre at best, and food that ended up...

I come here quite often, but this will be the last time. I was shown a table and had a woman come take my order. I gave her my drink, appetizer, and dinner order, at her insistence. I had my drink a minute later, then my appetizer a couple of minutes after that. The server informed me that my dinner was a couple of minutes away - this is after I told her there was no rush. Within five minutes of sitting down, I had chips, salsa, drink, appetizer, and dinner. The server walked by about 15 minutes later and had a child bring me a drink refill, without bothering to speak with me. It has now been about 25 minutes, my check and a to go box were dropped off several minutes ago. My server has walked by to see if I'm ready to pay, twice. I waited tables for quite a while, and know when someone is trying to get rid of me. I'm normally a great tipper, but don't feel an obligation to tip, today. I will drive 20 minutes to another restaurant, from now on; they'll appreciate...

Riviera Maya remains Cuba's oldest Mexican restaurant. We started going to their original location because of the quality of their food. That old location would have fit in with many smaller villages in Mexico. Good food in a homely setting. We were sad when they closed because their quality food was unavailable in Crawford, Phelps, Dent, and surrounding Counties. Then they reopened in their present location just south of the railroad tracks in downtown Cuba a block south of Route 66 (corner of Smith and Main). Their good food became even gooder, great. The decor though is unlike any other place I've ever been too. The walls, tables, booths, and chairs have been carved, painted, and sealed. Even the holders for salt, sugar, etc on the tables have been painted. This place would now be at home in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio or a myriad of larger cities in Mexico. It's the best of both worlds big city cusine and decor with small town atmosphere and prices.

Very unique (in a good way) interior decorating however I've had 2 good meals here out of a handful of visits, my last of which was today and shall be the last. Order of 2 items, only 1 came out with cheese still visibly cold. They brought it out again, this time the right number, but a very unpleasant gift between the 2 quesadillas. What kind of hair does that look like, potential customers? I still would have tolerated this and potentially returned if it was very obviously a head hair. Then, to top it off, as my party had finished their meals at this point, I went to pay and they tried to charge me for them, eventually (after some bickering with one another) they removed it. This was, and shall remain, my last visit to this establishment.
