Kiosko La Pica — Restaurant in Culebra

We passed La Pica several times during our visit to Culebra. We finally stopped there for lunch on our last day. I wish we had stopped sooner and more often! We had a grouper fish sandwich that was out of this world, cooked to perfection, super fresh and pleasingly plated right down to tiny Puerto Rican flags which we took home as a souvenirs of one of the best meals we’ve ever had. One thing I dislike about PR is that they treat visitors like 2nd class people. Even in this kiosks. We were waiting for our food after half an hour, the locals showed up, of course they jumped the line and we waited for 1:30 before finally getting our food.

Make sure you ask for the price of the food you are ordering. If you don't, the boy just spit out some random higher number for the food you ordered. You might as well be paying for the grandma who is drinking beer bottle after bottle, like...

For what I expected, I enjoyed my experience. Affordable food with good flavor, especially the beef and sweet plantain empanada, that came quickly after ordering (no one was in front of us). The woman serving us was very nice and accommodating. Holding off on 5 stars because flavor wasn’t out of this world, but it’s a nice little lunch spot with shaded tables and chairs.
