Great family/owners! Love the hand painted walls, decorations and the warm family style environment! Usually, I just get the tacos which is enough to be satisfied and to continue dining. 5 stars.
Consistency isn’t always there with the takeout/delivery meals. Quality isn’t as authentic as desired but still love the salsa, tacos, arroz con pollo, chimi’s, enchiladas, and breakfast food. 4 stars.
The taco salad was watery and not homemade style. As some other items seem too easily thrown together / store bought/ plain. Service is inconsistent with hospitality/professionalism/ efficiency. 3 stars (except the skinny, quiet, and polite older señor with short hair is very nice!) Angel usually does a good job also.
System/business wise, they need prep tickets with names and numbers to keep in a computer system. Deliveries have hand written details and no name or number or it’s handwritten and hard to read. And telephones never work, online is difficult to understand/figure out. Servers hand write bill so not sure if prices are accurate therefore, Cashier trusts the server priced correctly but no...
Read moreIt's almost an authentic-like experience eating here. The decor is colorful, the workers were friendly & polite. The salsa they brought to the table was a bit spicy but great-tasting. The menu was a bit crowded & confusing. Breakfast mixed in with other meals. Too many choices, but not the greatest quality. The burrito ranchero was good, the mini tortillas were not soft, but hard in a few places. The shrimp had hardly any flavor. The grilled chicken wasn't grilled as expected on an actual grill, & was very dry as well as flavorless. Stay away from it. I was trying to dunk it in whatever salsa & sauce I had in order to be able to eat half. The rice was good & the lettuce was fresh. I was just looking for a great dinner, & it definitely fell short of that. Overall, it was ok. There were no outstanding flavors & received no recommendations for anything that would stand out. It was clean & half-full at dinnertime, so that's a...
Read moreFrida’s is adorable. This small town staple is a must stop. They have EVERYTHING on the menu. From cinnamon French toast to Philly cheesesteak to Greek salad. The theme is, yes, based on the noted artist, Frida Khalo. The interior is loud florals and murals inspired by her life’s work.
I ordered brunch and enjoyed a traditional meal of eggs (cooked to order), bacon, grits, and biscuits and gravy. I asked for my eggs over medium, they were perfect. Not too runny, just right. Bacon was thick and crispy. My family shared cinnamon French toast and it brought back nostalgic memories of Saturday mornings with cartoons in the background. I tried their house-made salsas and they were delightful. Their red is currently available for purchase by the bottle, their green is only available for carry out purchase. I will be going home with both!
If you are ever driving past or staying around Culver, you should make this at least one...
