Great Taste Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Cumberland

For the area (since I work nearby), they are not bad. I've had a lot worse so it's good to keep it in perspective. However, if you were to judge them across RI, they are well below the standard. My recommendation is to stick with the most common items that are found in the lunch specials and appetizers - any attempt to get something out of that norm and expect to be dissatisfied. Last night, I ordered Hot & Spicy Jumbo Shrimp. It was literally 8 pieces of shrimp sauteed with a whole sliced onion, a bit of mushroom, and carrots in a red sauce that was neither hot nor spicy. I was a bit surprised, I had NEVER seen this much onion accompany a dish before (even in an onion soup) and I find it hard to believe that anyone would ever eat this much onion - not even Chinese would. I'm not sure what the chef's logic was but it makes me question it. They also gave me a side of white rice that was unfortunately old which is easily noticeable by a yellowish tint - normally a sign that the rice had been sitting too long in a rice/warm pot. Even if they cooked it, kept it refrigerated, and then reheated it - it would've been better. Delivery with this place is abysmal but because I order ahead of time and have patience, I'm not bothered. Their website estimates at least an 1-1.5hr minimum for delivery and although they tend to deliver around 50 mins, that timing is still terrible for a place that is only a mile away. Their saving grace is that I love their dumplings and they're fairly inexpensive...

I have ordered on seperate occasions and on them earlier orders they were great and after a few times going there i got friendly with the woman that owns the place with her husband I'm guessing. So one go back because its good obviously ordered a simple hunan chicken with a side of young gow fried and ... It was the worst dish I've had huge chunks of broccoli with not a crown massive cunks of onion with the skin on absolutely not a drop of sauce nothing all I can say to the husband / chef/prep/finish cook dont be jealous youve got a wonerful wife whom im sure loves you get a grip young man i havnt ordered there since. I'm really not sure why I read bad reviews, as I didn't experience anything bad as people said. I would describe it as "our perfect go-to comfort take out chinese"(the kind you wanna order in and grub on while watching a movie with the fam). The food is very delicious and flavorful, seasoned well. Our favorite was their fried dumplings (the sauce is amazing), chicken with broccoli, beef lomein. They have a diet section if you want something a bit healthier. Was very hot as if it was fresh out the pan when delivered. Good sized portions. Only complaint -if any- it was a tad bit on the oily side. Other than that I'd give this a try...
