My family and I love trying new breakfast places and was told about Ollie's. We gave it a try a few weeks ago and loved it. So we decided to go back there today. It was definitely pretty busy so we had to wait about 25 min to be sat. Which is totally fine. Well when we did sit and ordered we waited about 1hour and 15min (yes over an hour!!) and noticed the table behind was recieved their food before we did and we were sat and had ordered already about 20 min before this table was even sat. At this point, my 2 little boys are becoming restless after waiting over an hour for their food. I asked the very kind waitress why the table behind us recieved their order before us. That table ordered Omletes and we only got scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, a pancake and toast. No reason why it would take over an hour and then to see a table of 4 recieve their omletes before us. So the waitress went and asked about our food and came back and said not much longer now there Is one more slip before yours. WHAT!! ONE MORE SLIP????? My husband was ready to walk out at this point. Well our food arrived 10.min later and I asked to speak to a manager and the waitress said the manager was at the grill. OOOH YOUR BOSS IS THE COOK????? she told the manager that we were not happy and it upset the manager and while we were eating we can hear the manager complaining about us the whole time. How professional, right? During this time another customer asked about his food. And the waitress said that they have to go in order. That's a total lie! Well we did get 50% off our bill which is nice of them but we will NOT be returning. Which is terrible to say because the food is great. This unprofessional manager should learn to be more efficient. We will stick to our #1 place where 1 man is cooking and can bang our orders in less than 15 min and he is by himself, unlike Ollie's that has 3 men and it takes them over an hour for scrambled eggs!! We are a family that never complains and this is my very first complaint over a restaurant. I'm sad that this happened but they are off our list. Which wont effect them because they obvisouly get alot of business. But eventually people will stop going because...
Read moreTo the owner of Ollie's Diner in Cumberland.... I am sorry you are tired and having a bad day today. I am sorry that it was very busy and you may have been stressed. I am sorry we were brought the incorrect fruit cup size by your staff who were doing their best to deal with the crowd. Had you come over nicely or had the waitress explain the mix up, we would have been fine as we were unaware of the issue. However, bellowing across your restaurant and customers that "they are going to pay the difference. We aren't giving stuff away for free" was totally unprofessional. You made my daughter completely uncomfortable for something that was not her fault. I guess you don't realize how often she is there. How often her friends are there. How you were her favorite spot in town. We won't be back. Please learn to treat those around you with respect and kindness. We all make mistakes. It's how you deal with them that define you and...
Read moreExpanded - more seating! Ollie’s recently expanded their dinning room by opening up the wall into the space next door that was a barbershop. Parking is easier now too, because parking is allowed across the street in front of Josie’s ice cream. Ollie’s is a special place, hand’s down, serving up the best, friendliest breakfasts and lunches around and they always have an extensive, delectable specials board. My wife and I have our breakfast’s there most weekends and have never been disappointed by the food or the friendly, efficient staff - and that go’s for them all: the busy waitresses, cooks, and dishwashers. The local customers are easy to chat with if you want. If you do find yourself waiting for a table and the big round table is available (held for groups of 4 or more), try asking others who might be waiting for a table too, if they’d like to share the big table with you. We’ve met several new friends that...
