This is our second time here. First was with the wife & kids. Second was with just me and my wife. I got to say it was really good food for a very good price. I would say that their salmon positano is amazing I don't know how but this is one of my favorite dishes in a long long time. I would say it even rivals the ones that I've tried in three and four star restaurants that I've been in. My only complaint on that dish was that it was a tiny bit overcooked it had a great crust but the inside got a tiny bit dry since it was overcooked. Very relaxed atmosphere in here it was pretty busy when we came since it was around dinner time. I would say the only thing that I would improve is probably the cleanliness and the setup of the chairs and tables. Probably better furniture to increase the ambiance and maybe a little bit more soundproofing to make it a little bit more of a pleasant dining experience. Although maybe I'm being a little too critical since this is not what this restaurant is about. The bathrooms at least for the men's is okay and it's clean. The restaurant is also vegetarian friendly as my wife is vegetarian she had a couple of choices of food that she can eat. Our server Anniston had the most positive demeanor I have ever seen as a server very friendly and very bubbly amidst the chaotic dinner time I can tell that she was tired but she could have fooled me since she was so positive and uplifting in the way she spoke and the way she talked to me and my wife! Excellent service! Two thumbs up with five stars to top it off Anniston! I would highly recommend trying out Brooklyn Joe's their pizza and the crust are very well done and the dishes that I've tried so far did not disappoint. We also tried the dessert, their cheesecake and it was phenomenal. Simple but really good and great price. I will do a follow-up review after I've been back three to five times to see if the experience the food and the flavors are still the...
Read moreProbably the best pizza I’ve ever had and as someone who can take it or leave it, that’s saying A LOT!! The quality of the toppings and a flavorful crust made this well worth taking one for the team so my husband could have his favorite food next to hotdogs. The calamari appetizer was tender and tasted as greasy they claimed it to be. Great service and fair prices make me extra excited to go back and try other items.
SECOND Experience:
Our first experience here was in house, so this is our second review and it's for the takeaway service. Just for the fact that they'll deliver to my house when the typical fast food pizza chains will not, I'd give them three stars.... BUT... they get five because even after the food sat after it was delivered, it reheated beautifully because that's what real food actually does. I ordered the chicken parm entree, while my husband ordered the "small" Stromboli. Both were absolutely fantastic. I also have to shout out the staff because when I called to see if we even met their delivery criteria, I wasn't prepared to order because I fully expected to be told "no," just like Domino's or Pizza Hut always says, even though they re actually closer in proximity. I told the staff at Brooklyn Joe's l'd have to call back after we decided what to get and when I did, the other person who answered was just as friendly as the first. Our order arrived earlier than the estimated time and the delivery person was super kind. Again, the food was perfect, the portions were great for the price and that marinara is fantastic!! 10/10 and because they'll deliver when huge franchise places say "no," they'll have our...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Brooklyn Joe’s Pizza in Dawsonville for years, and my latest visit before the big college football games reminded me why it’s still my go-to spot.
Food: As a Chicago pizza guy, I feel a little guilty raving about a New York-style place—but great pizza is great pizza. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak pizza (no mushrooms, well done), and it was fantastic: generous cheese, flavorful toppings, and great taste overall. My only minor gripe is that I prefer my cheese browned, but they’re always happy to pop it back in the oven when I ask. The ziti with meatballs was also excellent—and the portion size was massive. We got four meals out of one order, making it hands-down the best value on the menu. Bonus points for their beer selection: a solid mix of name brands and local brews. I always arrive early for pickup just to enjoy a cold one at the bar.
Service: I was greeted right away and had plenty of space to sit at the bar while my order was prepared. Our server was quick, friendly, and made sure we could inspect the food before closing out. I’m docking one star only because they were slammed with a catering order and I couldn’t get a second beer—but that’s understandable.
Atmosphere: The vibe is always lively, with great staff and plenty of seating both indoors and out. It’s a welcoming spot that consistently draws a good crowd.
I visit Brooklyn Joe’s at least once a month, and it continues to be my favorite pizza...
