Homeplate Cafe — Restaurant in Dadeville

3rd time we have been rejected. 1st time we arrived approximately 950am. We out of food setting up for lunch . (No approximate ready time) just leave! 2nd arrived around 1:00 buffet style bits and pieces no appealing food (dried out) and 3rd 9:30 am 9/12/25 waiting 7 minutes for waitress (she was very nice) 10/12 people were there already served! Brought me a tea, 2min later she told me that they were out of food! I left hungry again. You’re telling me that no flour,eggs pancake mix,even cereal. Really, my friends and family are quite large. Service is cafeteria style. You stand in line, order from a posted menu, and they place portions of food on a plate which is on a tray. Then you pay the cashier and take your tray to an open table. The food was ok. Sides were mostly meh, except the fried okra which was decent. Entrees were just ok, nothing special except for the beef tips which received a good review. You leave your plate on the table, and they come clear up after you. I was surprised by the number of people who chose to have lunch there on a Friday.
