Hardemanâs, I have loved, enjoyed and TRUSTED your food and service for majority of my life of 59 years. Your food has often been the main course of my family dinners. For years Iâve highly praised and recommended your food to others when it comes to barbeque and delicious soulful, home-cooked meals BUT all of the high praise, favorable recommendations and even the desire to ever in life eat ANYTHING from your establishment again all went out the window October 2024 when there was clearly A DEAD FLY FLOATING ON TOP OF THE SWEET POTATOES. It was clearly a DEAD BLACK FLY. Although Iâm already certain of what the object was, I asked the server/young man if he can tell me what he thought it was. Naturally he was hesitant so I asked him isnât that a FLY, he stirred into the sweet potatoes with a spoon and got the fly onto the tip of the spoon for a closer look and he too agreed that it was a dead fly. This is clearly a no no, itâs this sort of thing that have so many seriously ill from bad food, parasites, food poisoning, etc. I noticed upon entering the building that none of the food items were covered with lids, this could have been avoided simply by placing a lid on top of the food especially when itâs not being attended to. Hardemans I must say that as much as I love the taste of all of your food, I will never, ever eat from your establishment again. The thought of seeing that fly in the food really messed me up even months later. See the severity goes much farther than a mere dead fly being in the sweet potatoes, itâs the realization and severity that a fly is a maggot, and a maggot is a parasite. With that being said, I will never recover from what I saw there. Truly, my loss but no thanks for the gain, gain of severe stomach infection from digesting parasites. Certainly has me more observant no matter which restaurant/food...
Read moreOrdered 2 lbs of sliced brisket, a large mac & cheese, and large fries for the family. Spent about $80, which seemed fairâuntil the BBQ gods sent us two sandwiches instead of two pounds of meat. Not exactly what we meant by âfamily meal.â
We called to get it fixed, explained that weâd ordered delivery because weâd been outside all day looking like extras from a Dust Bowl documentary, and that weâd already tipped the driver $15. They told us to come pick it up ourselves. You know, really driving home that whole âconvenienceâ angle.
So my kids roll down there, only to get served a side of sass from a teen behind the counter who apparently moonlights as the gatekeeper of smoked meats. They acted like we were running a brisket scam until someone from the back confirmed we werenât, in fact, criminal masterminds trying to con them out of beef.
No apology. No extra sides. Not even a sad little cornbread muffin to say, âour bad.â They did let us keep the wrong order - whooohooo. Just a long drive and a lesson in customer disservice.
Got the food home: fries were half-cookedâso we had to air fry the fries, which feels illegal somehowâand the mac & cheese? Salty. Like⊠âmy team lost and my ex is dating a Pilates instructorâ salty. Like how I'm feeling right now salty.
The BBQ? It was okay. But next time I want to be treated like an inconvenience, Iâll just text my HOA. Believe me, I know Sundays are busy and chaotic... but customer service is customer service. This was the Kiest...
Read moreWas recommended to try this place by a good friend of mine. I canât say itâs the best soul food Iâve had in Dallas nor will I probably be back. I ordered the smothered pork chops, yams, and cabbage. It was mediocre. The yams were mushy and my chops werenât hot. They are very adamant about not giving refunds or exchanges so once you get your food...youâre pretty much stuck with it! The gravy was great and so was my peach cobbler. They were out of fries so I couldnât get a kids meal for my children, we also ordered a peach cobbler which was probably the best thing going. I usually order ox tails but they did not look appealing AT ALL. Very fatty and unseasoned. They should probably take into cosideration that their presentation isnât the greatest. When I walked in and seen the food it didnât look the greatest but since I drove all the way to Dallas for this I stayed. The food looked dried up around the pans which Iâm sure it was sitting out for too long and the plates werenât clean at all. Customers do look into those things. The customer service was great, both theyoung girl and older guy was very nice and outgoing. Prices were okay I guess for some soul food. Just some...
