Malena Tacos — Restaurant in Dallas

This is a Mexican food restaurant inside a convenience store, although the restaurant area seems bigger than the convenience store area.

I ordered a beef fajita burrito and was going to order a lengua taco but I believe it was actually beef fajita. I ordered my taco on flour and the tortilla was much larger than you generally get at street taco places. They don't jam pack it with meat but still a good sized taco (meat and grilled onions). The burrito is HUGE. It was bigger than the burritos you get at Chipotle. In addition to the beef fajita meat it included rice, beans, a little grilled onions, and cheese in the burrito. I'd say the best part is the meat which was very good quality. I also like that the tortillas were freshly warmed (partially burnt..which feels authentic to me). The rice and beans tasted pretty mediocre and I could barely taste the cheese.

From a value proposition, I think the burritos and tacos here are good. Taste overall is fairly average and nothing special. If you are in the area then I'd recommend checking it out. I would like to come back and try other dishes. This place has a very large menu considering the size (both breakfast and lunch). They sell Chile Rellenos, Enchiladas, flautas, caldo de res, carne asada, tortas, nachos, etc.

I came at like 11:15am and the parking lot was full. I had to circle around once and then fortunately caught a spot opening up. The line grew quite long and from an operational perspective it seemed like quite a mess, from the way the line flowed (you have to walk back between the line to pick up your food and pay), to how long it took to fill people's orders. I would definitely look at ways to improve this process if I was the owners. Some of the ladies appeared to only speak Spanish but I ordered in English and this caused no issues. This is definitely 💯 the taco spot in a 5 mile radius that you want to go and get something to eat. There menu is amazing and kid-friendly. The service alone by JASMINE has made me a guest for her and her family's restaurant FOREVER. Jasmine remembers every guests name and there favorite food in detail what they like and don't like. She's always smiling and definitely cares about her guests needs. I can definitely tell she is very HUMBLE and PASSIONATE about what she is doing in this restaurant. My favorite one- stop shop! The ladies are so kind, generous and courteous, the service is top- notch. Good selection in the store, very clean, and the hot food is some of Texas' finest "authentic Mexican" fare. As a native Texan for 56 years, I consider myself a tough critic, especially with the delicious variety of Tex-Mex our beautiful state has to offer.
