Los Primos Tacos & More – Burrito Bliss in a Sea of Fence Trucks

Listen, do yourself a favor: skip that conference hotel’s $40 buffet—yeah, the one with sad waffle stations and scrambled eggs poured straight from a vacuum-sealed bag. Instead, get off the beaten path and into the flavor zone at Los Primos Tacos & More, tucked into a light industrial stretch off Irving Blvd.

When we pulled up, the street and lot were packed bumper-to-bumper with fence company trucks and their hungry crew. Honestly, I think they had enough materials and manpower on hand to fortify all of Love Field. Always a good sign.

Inside, it’s clean, simple counter service, run by a friendly guy who could sell tacos or world peace with that smile. And before you even glance at the menu, your eyes will be drawn to the row of six agua fresca dispensers like a beacon from a higher, thirstier power. Coffee? Please. I grabbed a 32oz horchata—perfectly cinnamon-y, cold, and not too sweet. Basically a hug in a cup.

I was here for one thing: the breakfast burrito. Yes, technically more of a Tex-Mex creation, but Los Primos gives it full Mexican soul. A warm flour tortilla cradling eggs, beans, and cheese—and I added chorizo and potatoes because I love myself.

Then came the surprise: a cup of warm, savory noodle soup. Never had it before at a breakfast joint, but it was simple, comforting, and oddly magical—like your abuela knew you had a long day ahead.

Moments later, our burritos arrived, and the table fell into a reverent silence—like a curtain dropping before a stage show. We were locked in, fully committed. No crumbs left behind. Flavors enhanced with two gasolina house made salsas.

So satisfying, I didn’t even think about food again until dinner. And while I came for the burrito, they’ve got legit options like chilaquiles and machacado for next time.

Great food. Great people. Great horchata....

Update to my review in a quick way: 👀 Get everything but the tacos 🧀 If you get the tacos get them costra style (melted cheese, crunchy almost crust style) 👎 avoid the red dye potato tacos 🍍 Their aguas frescas are different now. I miss the cantaloupe from before. Get pineapple if you must get an agua.

If you’re on the hunt for authentic Monterrey-style chicharrones (meaty and tender, not the crunchy kind), this spot is a must-visit! While it’s not quite on the level of the famous Carnes Ramos in Mexico, it’s the closest you’ll find in the Dallas area, and everything we tried was delicious.

The green bottled salsa, “Verde que te quiero verde,” was a standout—an amazing touch! However, the included tomatillo salsa for the chicharrón taco was a bit underwhelming.

The aguas frescas were a highlight, especially the watermelon and cantaloupe flavors. If you can’t decide, don’t hesitate to ask for a sample.

We were too full to try anything else this time, but next visit, we’re definitely going for the enormous quesadillas and those tempting desserts.

Bonus: the complimentary starter soup (sopa de fideo) was excellent! Pro tip: save the soup then add a slice of avocado from your entree plate for an extra boost of flavor.

After your meal, you’ll definitely want to take home a pound of chicharrones. Just be sure to ask for a different salsa if tomatillo isn’t...

I eat here almost everyday and the service at this place is exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience.

The menu offered a variety of delicious taco options, each bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The attention to detail in the presentation of the dishes was commendable, adding an extra touch of delight to the overall experience.

What truly sets this restaurant apart is the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to offer recommendations or accommodate any dietary restrictions. Their genuine passion for what they do was evident, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all patrons.

In addition to the great service and friendly staff, the prices were also reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food and experience provided. Whether you're a taco enthusiast or simply looking for a delightful dining experience, I highly recommend visiting this small taco restaurant. You won't be...

I totally tried this place because I saw it on Instagram. I was really excited to give it a try because of how it was shown on Insta. It was super busy, the cashier was nice. I ordered two tacos of chicarrón one with salsa and the other without. Honestly, the one without salsa was super hard, not much meat to taste, you could taste the fat. The other taco with the salsa and avocado was the same the meat was too hard, thick and was hard to eat. The barbacoa taco I had, had lots of meat but super greasy. The fideo was not that much served in the bowl they give, it was really over cooked, you can tell it had been there for awhile. You can tell when fideo is fresh. The salsas were okay. 5/10 for me. I was really expecting something better but it’s all good. I drove from Lewisville to give it a try and that’s all folks!!

We found Los Primos on TikTok, and we couldn't resist a place that bragged on their mollejas. I honestly loved everything we ordered, and i especially loved that they STUFF these tacos. The tripa was cooked to a perfect crispines, mollejas were on point i wish they had a little more char to them but thats a personal preference, out of all these tacos the chicarron was my favorite. Lacked with flavor crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The manager is always making sure that customers have everything they need at the table. We are very happy we visited this little gem, and it turned out it is just down the street from our parish in Irving. See you again soon, Los Primos
