Mariscos La Riviera Nayarit — Restaurant in Dallas

If you are looking for authentic Mexican seafood a few minutes south of Richardson, this is it. Because of this chilly weather, this time I got the Caldo de Mariscos Rivera. If you are hungry and cannot wait to eat, be prepared to give this seafood soup a few minutes to cool by getting some grilled shrimp appetizers. The soup is hot, but definitely worth the wait. It is so tasty and full of flavor from the Alaskan crab, mussels, shrimp and bass fish accompanied by carrots and potatoes. This soup really doesn't need anything else, but it comes with lightly buttered toast. There is only one sized portion as no small or large portion is available, but believe me when I tell you, I am no little man and this was plenty for me. I've seen it nice and busy here on weekends, but midday during the week a handful of tables and your waitress available to provide any additions as needed. I also had the tasty cucumber water, it is sweet and refreshing, but take your time enjoying it as no refills are provided, that's just how it is with aguas...

We came here based on the reviews. In short, both the food and the service were mediocre, and also very much overpriced for what you get.

We love authentic Mexican food, and we love mariscos. The native Mexican in our group was the harshest critic of the food, and the one who insisted that we leave a review so that others would know. She also ordered for us, and the waitress could not get the order right after several tries. Actually, I'm not sure that the waitress smiled the whole time.

After eating there, my stomach was very bothered, and I then suffered significant GI distress in the night.

The food here is not that bad. But do expect to sooner or later be ripped off. I came here once in awhile whenever I was in the area but the customer service is completely terrible that it has made me decide not to come here again. They have gotten my order wrong a few times or giving me a shrimp soup with only 2 pieces of shrimp and yesterday I had called in an order of 2 fried fish and once I got there I order a few more plates only to drive home and find out I'm missing a order. I call back and return which is a few miles away only to not get what I was missing and also not get a refund for the plate I hadn't gotten. That's how you...
