Tia Estella — Restaurant in Dallas

I have visited this establishment several times now and I have never had a bad experience. The food has always been well made in the style as we Mexicans call it "Casero" or home made... good to the bone. My last meal here was the "chuletas en chile verde". I was licking my fingers because of how good it was and the home made tortillas just added to the flavor. I'm gonna also add that the salad that accompanied this dish was very fresh. From other establishments, Seldom do I get salads that look fresh which force me not to finish them. The lettuce, tomatoes and avocado slices were super fresh And for that I'm giving it a five star rating... well deserved. Price is very reasonable... you won't have to break the bank. Give it a try. I used to live going to the hidden gem , thats is until one day I order my usual and when I got home and started eating I recognized a dead cockroach was in my rice so I called and told them I wanted a refund and the person in charge kept denying the fact that I clearly had a roach in my food and kept telling me they don’t have roaches . Then I asked for a refund and was given every excuse in the book as to why I couldn’t get my money back . Very unprofessional like . I was not happy about food I didn’t finish eating when I was very hungry to begin with . A place that I frequented daily couldn’t even give me $17 refund when I’ve spent hundreds …smh won’t get my service ever again and I hope they’re held...

I will never come here again! Thought it would be a good place to eat by the look in the photos but the service here is terrible! I asked what kind of “aguas frescas” they had and the server said, “I don’t know, let me check.” I then asked for an ice tea and she said they didn’t have any never offered to brew some or anything. I drank water. I drive here for the caldo de res but was afraid to ask for some because I thought they were going to say they had caldo but no beef. The place had burglar bars all around it and the open sign was turned off. They served the wife a Dr. Pepper in a can and when she asked for a glass with ice she took 6 minutes and to bring it. I gave up and just paid for the drinks and left.

Nunca volveré aquí! Pensé que sería un buen lugar para comer por el aspecto de las fotos, ¡pero el servicio aquí es terrible! Pregunté qué tipo de "aguas frescas" tenían y el servidor dijo: "No sé, déjame comprobar". Luego pedí un té helado y ella dijo que no tenían ninguno, nunca se ofreció a preparar algo ni nada. Tomé agua. Conduzco aquí por el caldo de res pero tenía miedo de pedir algunos porque pensé que iban a decir que tenían caldo pero no carne.
