El Pollo Alegre — Restaurant in Dalton

They have some of the worst customer service I've experienced. I ordered the chicken alfredo plate to go and got home and there was no chicken or tomatoes, just the noodles and sauce which wasn't a big deal. I called and asked if I could just come by and get the chicken that went with the pasta and they said yes. I got there and the hostess told me I was supposed to bring my plate back for proof I wasn't lying, and so they could take my plate back to the kitchen where the cook would add the chicken to it, which feels like a health hazard. I said I would have but no one told me that when I called, so she went to the back and talked to the cook and came back and said the cook said "she knows she doesn't make any mistakes" and implied I was a liar, and she needed me to bring the plate back before they'd give me the chicken. I told them I could have someone at home send me a picture, and she said she had to go ask the cook again if that was okay. At that point I just walked out. I really didn't like being told I was a liar and didn't want to go back home and come back for the 3rd time just for them to believe me and to correct their mistake. All this was because the cook claimed she never makes mistakes, which everyone does and it's fine, I just really didn't like being called a liar, especially over something so small. The way the hostess talked to me sounded like it wasnt the first time the cook has done this. I am fan of this place specifically for the chicken pasta. My whole family loves it & we recommend it to everyone. The last 5-6 times weve been they have been out of the pasta. We call and make sure they have it before we make the 15-20 min drive and were told they have it and plenty of it. Seems like everytime we get there they say they dont have it and are clueless when asked. The young waitress in there is incredibly rude and just walks away when you try to soeak to her. The owner is super nice but not always there. Why tell us you have it but dont and why be rude when asked why we were told yes when obviously you dont and both of the girls in there speak and understand...

So the very first time I came here (4-5 years ago)I wasn’t a huge fan, the chicken was great but not a fan of the sides. And I let that hinder my experience of this establishment. Came by for lunch on 6/28/23 and seen there was more to the menu other than1/2 chicken. I got the pollo ranchero and let me tell you…. I’ve had this dish at a lot of places but hands down this one took the prize. Chicken chunks were tender, juicy, and seasoned well. The rice and refried beans went nicely with it. Oh my oh my and the sauces and salsas were a great pairing with the Pollo Ranchero. Will definitely be back and wont let it be 4-5 years in...
