Fresh Elements — Restaurant in Daly City

Crazily over expensive! We ordered an Alaskan king crab along with just a few other stuff. The price was not even listed on the menu and the server failed to mention the price.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were all appalled by the disgusting wallpaper of crude cartoon fish, that had clearly been heavily graffitied on. Although we made a reservation, the servers apparently forgot about us, and made a big scene scraping a bunch of chairs across the ground. It should also be noted that they attempted to give us different color and height chairs, hoping we wouldn’t notice, and that they would have to go through getting more chairs. Absolutely lazy and churlish.

At one point, we inquired if the establishment had any wifi amenities. They said yes, but decided to not share the password with us.

Throughout the service, the servers unprofessionally reached over everyone to place food on the grill, disrupting our dining. I must admit, they did an exceptional job at noticing when our plates were full of shell, and collected it for us.

The crab was very tasty, but certainly not worth the price of $500+ by itself! That is a ridiculous amount for a crab. Upon searching up the price of the crab online, it is listed as about $100. What a scandal! However, I must applaud their porridge at the end of dinner service. At the start, they put some rice beneath all the food. While it all cooked, the juices dripped onto the rice. This post is about their terrible management. We had been waiting for 2.5 hrs to be seated while their host kept telling us we are the NEXT ONE. But we saw so many tables got emptied and larger size parties got to sit down first. After we finished our meal, the host said she remembered us and feels sorry. We answered we understand it's just the wait is longer than the expectation you provided us. And she asked “u waited 1 hr right? “ I finally realized that she didn't really “remember” us. FYI we've put down our check-in time on the wait list so they can check how long each party has been waiting. Furthermore, she KINDLY mentioned to us that we should reserve ahead of time next time. BUT I saw the reservations waited 1+hour while the weather was gloomy and windy at Daly City. I prefer she told us there were too many tables reserved during 6-7 pm, so they wouldn’t be available until 8 pm. Then I wouldn’t wait there just because she said “You are the NEXT one”. She kept SAYING sorry but never offered anything to make it up- not a drink, not a snack, def not a discount. She only made me feel that I was the one who did something wrong and should’ve said sorry to them. When we get the bill, we found there was an extra item charged. After they fixed this mistake, still, we paid 15% tips(almost 40$) politely because their waitress was sweet and there's nothing wrong with the food. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I recently discovered Fresh Elements in Daly City, my new favorite restaurant. This unique restaurant focuses on steamed seafood, offering a healthy and flavorful dining experience. We started with a selection of their cold dishes, which were a refreshing prelude to the main course. Following our server's expert recommendations, we opted for a variety of steamed seafood options, including clams, fish, shrimp, crab, lobster and vegetable. We chose a mid-price option for their crab selection. The clear winner of the night was the Australian lobster sashimi. It was incredibly fresh and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The real star of the show at Fresh Elements is their incredible porridge. As you steam your seafood, the flavors delicately infuse the porridge below, creating a soul-warming and utterly delicious finale to the meal. Fresh Elements is located in a strip mall next to Ranch 99 in Daly City. If you plan to visit Fresh Element, I suggest going with a group to fully explore the diverse range of dishes available.
