My experience here was completely and utterly mediocre. The food was all over the map on terms of quality. We tried the tostones rellenos, bistec empanizado, ropa vieja, and chicharrones de puerco, along with sides and dessert. Tostones we’re thick and not crispy, even on the edges where the filling wasn’t touching. Where the filling was, they were completely soggy. The picadillo was completely lacking in flavor.
The bistec empanizado was fine, nothing wrong with it, but nothing really to write home about.
The ropa vieja was wonderful. It was tasty, and tender.
The chicharrones de puerco were the best thing we tried. They were fried to perfection, and so tender and juicy that they were falling apart. These were perfect and are a must order if you come here.
The moros were very dry, and the maduros were hit or miss, and the mojo served with the yuca was majorly lacking flavor. Some of the maduros were perfect, and others were not as ripe as they should have been.
The flan has the potential to be amazing. It was dense, smooth, creamy, and rich. Sadly, it was terribly burnt on the bottom, and even when taking that off, the burnt taste had already permeated into the rest of the flan. This was such a pity because it is so difficult to find a good flan, and this would have been nearly perfect!
I would stay away from the rice pudding. It was terrible.
As for the service, our waitress disappeared for long periods of time throughout our time there, she was not helpful, and not friendly at all, super antipatica.
TLDR
PROS: Masitas de puerco Ropa...

I stumbled upon Little Cuban Cafe during my search for authentic Cuban cuisine in the area, and it turned out to be a delightful find. As I entered, I noticed the cozy café atmosphere, with a display of enticing food items in the glass showcase. The friendly staff immediately caught my attention, so I decided to grab a Cuban sandwich and also ordered yellow rice with Cuban picadillo and yuca with mojo sauce to-go.
The sandwich was made fresh and served with impressive speed. In just 10 minutes, it was ready and neatly packed for me to take home. Once I reached home, I indulged in a feast. The rice was simply delicious, perfectly seasoned, and the meat had the right amount of flavor. However, the sandwich didn't quite match my expectations. While it was alright, I've had better ones before. I believe the issue lay with the slightly bland pernil; it lacked the necessary saltiness.
Nevertheless, I appreciated the ample parking space and the cafe's convenient location on Griffin Rd. Little Cuban Cafe provides a flavorful journey through their offerings, and with their friendly service, inviting ambiance, and speedy preparation of made-to-order sandwiches, it's worth exploring for any Cuban food enthusiast.
In the future, I plan to give their sandwich another chance, hoping for an improved flavor profile. If the seasoning impresses me, I will gladly update my review to reflect my...
Read moreFound this little gem while in the area for lunch. Wow! Both my wife and I were completely blown away. We ordered Mojitos, roast pork sandwich, Cuban supreme, along with a side of fried plantains.
While I'm a big fan of great Cuban sandwiches, my wife is not a fannof the Cuban sandwiches due to the mustard. She ordered the roast pork sandwich, which was composed of 12-hour slow roasted pork on Cuban toasted bread, salted onions, lettuce, tomato, mayo and shoestring fries. Visiting S.FL from the Midwest, I felt compelled to go with the Cuban supreme sandwich. Slow roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, butter, pickles, and mustard on slightly toasted Cuban bread. While my sandwich was excellent, my wife's was in a different class and the better choice by far. Our only criticism, if we had one, was that the onions were a little undercooked. Otherwise, the Little Cuban Cafe's roast pork sandwich is hands down a prize-winning sandwich.
Both my wife and I enjoy mixology, so we are extremely picky when it comes to cocktails. To our surprise, the Little Cuban Cafe's Mojitos were among the best we've ever had. My wife even asked for the recipe, which was a house secret, and unfortunately for us, it remained that way. While I usually do not care for Mojitos, I could have ordered a pitcher. They were that good.
Both of us, having lived in Florida for a half dozen years, gave us a real appreciation for great Cuban food. Little Cuban Cafe is...
