China City — Restaurant in Davenport

The usual Chinese place I ordered from was closed today so I decided to try this place. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, white rice, and donuts. The sweet and sour chicken was the most dry chicken I ever had and made me question if it was even chicken since it had no real smell or taste, it was more like a jerky texture. The sweet and sour sauce was very horrible and did not taste like sweet and sour sauce at all in fact it taste like puke. The donuts were okay and the fortune cookies seemed more fresh than the place I usually get my Chinese food from. They also called me and asked me if I could increase my tip because I live in Davenport so I did, expecting a decent meal. After I received my food I called and the lady told me they've been in business for 18 years and had the same recipe and nobody ever complains so I should continue to just eat at my regular Chinese restaurant. I told her if I was at dining in I would have returned my food. She told me I could not return my food it was against policy even if I was dining in. I've been in the area for 2 years and the dining and the quad cities and the food quality has been horrible. I am from the Chicago area so I do have standards when it comes to food, it seems these restaurants serve the community anything and expect us to pay their high prices. Needless to say I will never eat here again and I don't recommend anyone else ordering the sweet and sour chicken... Edit to reply to the lies told by this restaurant. I never even mentioned I would leave a review nor did I ask for a refund because I knew it would be pointless let alone threaten you or your business. My daughter still talks about how bad the sweet and sour sauce tasted. Plus You just admitted that if every customer that complained was refunded you would go bankrupt, will that should tell you something about your food being horrible, especially after reading these other reviews people should know to stay away from this restaurant not only do they lie, the customer service is horrible as you can see, and allegedly the place is infested with mice and dirty but I did not go in so I can't contest to that. I am going to check my credit card though because you did call and ask me to increase my 15% tip that I left. Shouldn't it be your job to employ your employees I already paid for my food plus tipped and you asked for more, that is very rude. I don't even know how you stayed in business for 18 years this must be a money laundering business or a front for something illegal because ain't no way people eat your food...

This was the nastiest Chinese food I've ever had in my life😳 first off my husband got egg foo young and the gravy was clumpy and extremely nasty my son and I had sweet and sour chicken (simple right?) The chicken was way over cooked and had a real bad taste. Then I had a side of chicken fried rice boyyyy ohhh boyyyy all it was some yellow rice with grissle chicken all thru it. I recently ate here for the first time, and it will be the last. My first red flag should have been when over the phone I was asked "how much are you going to tip", because I was paying cash. I ordered some crab rangoons and the cream cheese was so sour and tasted spoiled and they tasted as though they were cooked in old dirty oil. The sweet and sour chicken had the same old dirty oil taste. My shrimp fried rice,,the shrimp had an "extra super seafood taste" to the point it tasted spoiled and my rice, must have been cooked in a freshly washed pan because it all tasted like dish soap. My co-worker and I both threw it all out. 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend and will NOT eat here again!! Went to Kwik Star instead. Waste of my money and...
