ABC Lobster Company — Restaurant in Davie

Stumbled on this place by accident. GF and I are always seeking new and interesting place to dine and ABC Lobster Company made the list. Another review mentioned the old adage, location, location, location and that does not apply to ABC Lobster Company. This seafood gem is well hidden in a populated warehouse/office park district in East Davie, very close but not too near the turnpike (no access), and State Road 7 (441). There is virtually no activity after 5pm and you have to use your GPS of look for the small signs directing you in.

The food, oh how wonderful it was! Freshest lobster, stone crabs and shrimp to be found on land. ABC Lobster Company’s seafood was so fresh it kept wiggling off my plate! All joking aside, fresh food, fantastic service (John our waiter) and wonderful creative tastes. Chef Allen came over to out table to make sure we were please and watched owner Chef Allen eating with family and friends. Saw what he was eating and decided if it’s good enough for the boss, it should be good for us. Not many tables, 3-4 inside with another 4-5 bar stools and about 7-8 tables outside. Very, very quiet area with ample parking. Sat outside, there was music and fans, we were in the midst of a cold front, it was 76 degrees. Watched the planes in their landing patterns heading into to FLL.

Food and service were 6 plus stars If your looking for people watching, this probably isn’t the place for you, but if your looking for a great seafood meal in a relaxed casual setting ABC Lobster Company is the place to be. Prices were somewhat inexpensive for type of seafood served so if you think location, location, location, guess who subsidizes the rent? Sometime we have sacrifices to make, eat gourmet at the office park for half the price of eating on Las Olas. No brainer!

Oh, forgot to mention the “Wicked Whoopie”. Don’t think too much about this,...

After researching restaurants to try on my trip to FLL, I wasn't going to miss the chance to grab a supper here. Found easily with Google maps, and headed in. Asked for a table outside (they are experiencing a cold front, but it was plenty warm for me!).

The server was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. He made the recommendation of several favorites and I chose the Connecticut Lobster Roll.

Was I glad that I did! The dish that came out was on a heavenly soft roll, had two nice size lobster claws on top, and was deliciously flavored. The melted butter added just that little bit of extra indulgence to the lobster, which was perfectly cooked, sweet flavored and very fresh.

The side of home cut fries were also very well cooked - perfect crispness on the outside, while soft on the inside. The sea salt on top was the correct amount - neither too much nor too little.

I have to again reiterate that the service was impeccable. Just the right amount of check ins with me to see if I needed anything.

I was so full after the Lobster Roll and fries, that I couldn't even contemplate dessert - though they sounded so delicious.

I would definitely recommend visiting this out of...

Took my wife here because this place has great reviews. I couldn't be any more disappointed by the quality of our food tonight though. We ordered a 2.5lb lobster and shrimp scampi.

The large shrimp were fantastic and cooked very well. The staff was also very nice.

Our lobster was SO overcooked...the claw meat was extremely spongey and the tail meat was rubbery. (We showed this to one of the waitresses and she agreed that it was very overcooked.) They offered to make us another lobster, but after waiting 1 hour for the food to come out, we didn't want to wait another hour....

The shrimp scampi was ok, until my wife got to the bottom of the plate. The bowl was FILLED with oil. A disgusting amout of oil...

We did not want to ask for any type of compensation or throw a fit, but we will most definitely not be returning to or recommending the restaurant.

It was a shame though, because everyone else around us seemed to have a wonderful dinner and no issues with their food. I just wanted to treat my wife to a nice, different kind of dinner, and that just didn't happen.....
