After 15+ years of dining here, they now refuse to substitute simple sides — but they do enforce a policy of opening the door and passively thanking upset customers as they leave. That says everything.
This used to be our go-to spot — a beacon of Hispanic cuisine, value, and community. Now it’s a poorly run restaurant with no personality, no flexibility, and no respect for loyal customers. You can tell the place is under new leadership — and not in a good way.
We asked for a simple, common substitution — like swapping moro rice for yellow rice or yuca for refried beans — something we’ve done here for years without issue. The waitress immediately told us substitutions were no longer allowed and, without us asking, went to inform the manager while we sat just 15 feet away. The manager never came to the table, never asked what the issue was, and instead just refused from a distance.
As we were leaving, she made sure to open the door, offer a passive “Good night, sir,” and then muttered under her breath when I didn’t respond. My wife actually turned back to speak with her directly, hoping to get clarity — and was told the most absurd thing: that substitutions are no longer allowed because the difference is taken out of their paycheck. That’s not only unprofessional — it’s hard to believe.
Then, instead of taking ownership, the manager blamed the waitress for the confusion by saying, “She doesn’t speak English.”
Let that sink in.
The food itself isn’t the problem — it’s the attitude, the dismissiveness, and the complete lack of customer service. And clearly, we’re not the only ones who feel this way. The restaurant just isn’t as busy as it used to be — and after this experience, it’s easy to see why.
In a region full of great Spanish restaurants, this used to be our home. Now, we’ll be taking our family to Azteca or Ole Ole — where the food is great and customers are treated with...

Read moreI’ve been coming here for 4 years and have referred over 100 people and businesses! In the past they had the best margaritas for $4 . The service is excellent! Their waiter and waitresses are great, but lately too many changes cost has gone up which most places have. I normally spend about $60- $80 twice a week. Now I’m once a month! They advertise a Happy Hour 11 to 7pm , but they say no stood special after 5pm and the Happy hour ends at 7 which makes no sense. If you stay 1 minute after 10:00 then they charge you a different price when again they advertise Happy Hour all day! The employees are great whomever the owner is need to get it together! You have lost a excellent customer and I will bring it to everyone I referred attention as well!! You shouldn’t advertise things that you no longer want to honor that’s bad business!! Goodbye until you go back to how...
