Barnes Soul Food — Restaurant in Dawson

My wife and I were headed to Florida and saw google had some really good reviews so we figured why not give it a try. From outside in the parking lot we kind of thought... not so sure so I went in first. Might not look great from outside but friendly folks inside and really good eats. We will be stopping in the next time down, probably in about a month. 8/19/24, my wife and I stopped by here again and again we had a great experience. The biggest thing I can really say is, you want to experience what southern fried food is all about, this place is it. They know how to do it right and they really seem to be good people. Pulling in the very small parking lot you might say what am I doing here. You may walk in and think that double. But by the time you take your first bite, you’ll know why you will come back again....

Woke up Saturday morning and decided to drive 3 hours away to a farmers market we frequent when we are passing through on our way to Jacksonville. Today we decided to try a different restaurant than the one we normally stop at. We Google chicken and Big Chris popped up. I told my husband "I'm sure Big Chris got these neck of the woods on lock 😂we get there and customer service was A1! The place was clean and that's the first thing I noticed. We ordered our food and 20 min later she brings it to our car with a smile and some lemonade that they make in the restaurant. When I tell you good and refreshing! The food was so hot and delicious! Straight out the grease!! Couldn't touch it for at least 5 minutes 😭. Even the bread was fresh! This will definitely be one of our stopping points...

My husband loves to eat lunch here so I ordered food for his birthday party and it was amazing. My order was fresh and ready exactly when they said it would be. Everyone loved the food and the party was awesome. Everyone at Big Chris's was so friendly and helpful. Thank you for making it easy to host a party. I'll definitely be back for lunch, dinner and for the next...
