Soooo, I needed to go to Bid FTA at the new location on Webster Street. While driving by, I noticed a BBQ trailer in the lot next to it, at the corner of Stanley and Webster Street. Since I was already trying to figure out what I was going to eat, I decided to give them a try. The name of the food trailer is Big Ed’s BBQ. There is a pretty extensive menu of BBQ items to choose from; ribs, chicken, polish sausage, steak burgers, etc. There were also sides: mac n’ cheese, potato salad, collard/turnip greens, and macaroni salad. You could do meat only or dinner (entrée w/ 2 sides) At first, I was going to just do meat (being that I’m a carnivore), but figured since I needed a veggie for the week, I better go with the dinner. I opted for the rib dinner w/ mac n’ cheese and greens ($14). While my food was being prepared, I chatted up “Big Ed”. He mentioned that he used to work at Huffy’s. Since I had always heard that Huffy’s had good food, I felt better about my choice for lunch. I can only assume that business is pretty steady b/c there was a whole lotta meat on that grill. I gotta say, Big Ed did not disappoint. The greens had a nice flavor to them w/ a little bit of a spice kick. The mac n’ cheese was cheesy and tasted homemade. The ribs, although not necessarily fall off the bone tender, were by no means tough, but meaty, with a really good sweet and tangy sauce on it. All in all, I have to say Big Ed’s BBQ was pretty darn tasty and worth a try.

I was a block down and smelled that good smoke flavor. Pulled up Google and found this gem. Ed has a great smoker trailer with all the smoked meats you crave. I took advantage of the two smoked sausage meal deal and was not disappointed. He dunks them in a luscious barbecue sauce just before loading in the bun. The baked beans are ridiculous. Thick, sweet, savory. The mac and cheese had great flavor as well. Aside from all that, the service from Ed was top-notch. Well worth the stop, and I would make the trip to this food trailer again.

I was looking for bbq on Memorial Day because I was in from Out of town. I found this place on Yelp. The sausage was big and it tasted good. The mac and cheese was not seasoned and it was just ok. The beans were good even though I ordered greens instead of baked beans but he gave me beans. The ribs were rubbery or chewy. They are not fall off the bones ribs but they were seasoned well.

We were in Dayton buying a motorcycle from a guy, and wanted somewhere to lunch after. Never been to Dayton before so I pulled up Maps and found this place. When I say delicious, I mean DELICIOUS!! My friend likened it to a transcendental experience. It is by far the BEST BBQ we have ever had, and Big Ed himself was so nice to chat with and listen to! 10/10 would recommend, I just wish I lived closer so I could eat...
