Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Dayton

Disappointing. This is not a favorable review.l

Was on my way to visit with more family members, niece in tow. In Dayton, Ohio. Decided we needed some fried okra. Bad mistake.

This place has numerous deficiencies. I will say the chicken was chicken, but it wasn't the Church's Chicken I recall. It was on the drier side and greasier than expected.

How do I know? Well I had no utensils or napkins so while waiting on them, I sampled the wing I ordered..Greasy.

Customer service was definitely on the surly side. They were not at all happy about being corrected. A customer at the drive thru commented to me, since I was at the window discussing that my order wasn't right, that they do make mistakes but won't admit it. Additionally, I was discussed by staff as being a problem/complainer before being told to wait in my car and window shut.

My large order of okra was given to me just warm, they had put cold jalapenos in the bag with them... I felt them in the bottom of the bag. I requested they drop a fresh batch...they did after a small discussion stating they were still warm I pointed out the cold jalapenos in bottom of bag...end of discussion.

Well, the order was wrong on so many levels. Not the order taking. The young man signed in as Doreen C took the order accurately. However, the order was missing a few items and due to the Covid restrictions I assume, I had to get out of the car and go to the drive through window for assistance with acquiring napkins and utensils...which I thought would be in the bag...silly me...

I also was missing a drink, extra biscuit and sauce which were brought out the door after I repeatedly asked for my missing items of biscuit and drink and sauce.

Truly not recommending this location until they get some...

Food was terrible overcooked over flowered had a two piece dark Cajun rice and gravy apple pie that was my meal out of four meals the only good thing about my meal was the Cajun Rice the apple pie and only the drumstick of the wing was cooked the rest of them chicken was too hard and cooked too long and dry and burnt on the side like overcooked I even called the manager of this location on Gettysburg and told him that I waste $28.87 I will never go to Church's on Gettysburg again there's two of them I stay in Trotwood Ohio I started to take to drive to South Dixie Church's Chicken that I normally go and believe me I learned my lesson manager try to tell me where we only leave the chicken in so long you can play me see the chicken was overcooked hard no seasoning no taste whatsoever like I said that was a waste of money even the kids the kids said this chicken is too hard you know if it's really a shame the restaurants don't take pride are the owners of these restaurants don't check periodically on what these people are serving their customers it seemed to me they can make more money and get the word out how good their food really is but when you get served like this and your workers don't care about your food they're preparing for the Patriots it...

We use 2 have a Church's Chicken where I live in Hamilton, Ohio many years ago but I work with a gentleman that lives in Dayton and he was talking about it and that's all I could taste. Was that Church's Chicken? And so when I got off work I drove the half an hour there in Dayton and picked up some I had forgotten how good it really was, Even though I went through the drive-thru, I could tell that everybody there worked very hard and seemed to be enjoying themselves The lady manager was very Nice to not just me but her co-workers as well. They all just seem to be having a good time, The manager bragged about how that was the best churches in Ohio and she told me to make sure I came back and I told her I certainly would because that's the only one that I know of Even though it's a little distance away from where I live, the good food and the experience of the workers there made it worth the trip so I certainly will be back. Please keep up the good work and the positive and friendly disposition all of you have My experience was...
