As other's have mentioned, I feel completely underwhelmed by Lov's. I really wanted to like this, as Angie's held a special place in our hearts for many years. Sadly, I feel robbed of $75 when I could've gotten a family box of chicken from KFC for $20. Below is my full review...
Service: Kayleigh was our waitress and she was wonderful. Attentive, quick, and friendly. Absolutely no issues with service.
Atmosphere: WOW they have cleaned the dining room and bar areas up from this establishment's old Angie's days. You walk in and can immediately smell the difference. The new owners opened the bar up, so the room feels much larger and inviting. The restaurant has a country/Nashville theme with new furnishings. My only knock is that the men's room wasn't in great condition. The toilets were gross and floor was sticky.
Food/drink: ugh. My partner ordered the sirloin steak with macaroni and cheese and a side salad with ranch. While the sirloin was reasonably priced at $18, it was mediocre at best. The steak was an extremely fatty cut and tasted as though the cook didn't even salt and pepper the steak before grilling it. I feel as though this is the bare minimum when getting a steak out! He didn't care for the macaroni and cheese, but I didn't mind this. Just disappointed with the abysmal steak. My partner is a ranch dressing snob (typical Ohioan!) and complained that the menu stated the ranch was homemade when he said it tasted like GFS. Angies had the BEST ranch around.
I ordered the BBQ bologna sandwich with a wedge salad. If you want a good bologna sandwich, AVOID this $11 "sandwich". Go downtown to Tony and Pete's and your $12 goes so much further in quality. This was a split hamburger bun drenched in sweet BBQ sauce, a single slice of pepper jack cheese, and a thick slice of bologna. Nothing worth $11. My salad was fine, a basic wedge salad.
My partner ordered a tequila and soda and complained that the drink tasted watered down. He ordered two and didn't leave with a smile on his face. Especially after getting the bill and seeing a separate charge for the soda..... I ordered a Miller Lite in a can due to the draft system being down.
Overall: just go somewhere else. Slyder's is down the street; hell, so...
Read moreHad dinner our appetizer took forever to arrive and was luke warm at best. Wasn't able to flag down waitress as she saw running around all over and our food came out less then 5 minutes later. Girl across the way sitting at the bar was vaping. Although I didn't smell it and it may be legal who knows but I found it tacky. No complaints on the entrees but definitely nothing to rave about. Biggest complaint though was my to go order of cabbage rolls. They are currently in the trash. Raw rice inside and the rest of the sauerkraut/tomato part didn't taste very good. Seemed to me like they were rushed to make a large amount to accommodate the to go orders or maybe this is their norm nevertheless I'll pass from now on. Angis cabbage rolls were fabulous. These were definitely not. Also do not care about your what everyone else thinks response. Because whether the entire city likes someone vaping luke warm food and not cooked right cabbage rolls I did not. The only thing I will give you kudos for it doing a great job remodeling. But with the food not being that great it won't matter how nice the...
Read moreETA- I've had better Fisher price. I most of my breakfast wasnt edible,😅 we were the only diners in the restaurant and when asked if we enjoyed our meal she kept walking as she asked not waiting for our less than enthusiastic response. So... getting the meal remade wasn't much of an option but I love the ideas.
MEH. Kept a few items from the former menu but they really shouldn't have because they can't be carried through. Our meals were sorely overcooked. Over easy eggs were either forgotten about or sat under the broiler for too long, the bacon left an oily aftertaste and the gravy was room temperature.. The shaved beef sandwich reminds me of gyro meat shaved off last night and reheated later. The burger was large, i'll give it that much. We'll miss coming here but won't miss the food.
If you're going for whiskey, and atmosphere, please go. If you're going for food...
