Texas Seafood & Steakhouse — Restaurant in Dayton

Upon entering I was already disappointed. When I hear steakhouse I expect a nice experience, a little ambiance and upscale food. The waitress greated us immediately on entering and sat us. The place is clean and well kept. But the atmosphere is that of a roadside diner. The menu does not appear that they specialize in anything, in fact I nearly ran out the door when I saw that in addition to steaks (starting at $30), seafood, sandwiches and the typical affair, they have Chinese and Mexican food as well. The menu does not state what comes with any of the meals so I asked and the waitress stood right behind me with her knee on the bench behind and told me all the things that are not on the menu. An apparent frequent customer came in the door very loudly for all to hear and the waitress yelled right back. Chicken fried steak was simple but tasty, asked for mashed potatoes with it and found out later that they were an additional $3.99. I've never seen chicken fried steak come without mashed potatoes, but at least let me know there will be at an additional charge.

This place is one we have driven by for 5 years and WE REGRET WAITING SO LONG because our entire experience here was wonderful! First off our waitress (forgive me if I misspell it) Domanique was a very sweet helpful waitress, she was attentive and anticipated our needs. We ordered 2 appetizers (fried pickles, and boudin balls) and they were delivered to us prior to our meal just as it should be, hot and delicious. Our main course was the 1 fish 6 shrimp and 6 oysters w/ 1 stuffed crab (I substituted onion rings instead of fries) with coleslaw. The tea was not just fresh but had a nice robust flavor like southern tea should be, no weak restaurant tea here, more importantly she made sure to ask if we wanted a lemon with our tea which is a very appreciated question! All our food was fresh and hot and in a timely manner. I cannot say enough how impressed we were with every aspect of our visit and we will definitely be coming back for more!!! Kudos to the staff here you left us...

My mom and I had come up there do we could wait on my brother to join us as soon as we walked in.we didn't know if we were suppose to seat our self's or what waited about five minutes with waitresses walking around and saw us.so I finally flagged one down and asked do we need to wait or seat ourself? Then the waitress got us to our table took thirty minutes for our two appetizers to come to our table then after my brother had joined us we got to order finally it took them 33 mintues to take our salads and 1 coleslaw away after we are finished. Then we almost had to wait a full hour just to get our main meal. We never got any refills I had to flag another waitress just to get to go boxes and the people who were right across from us,left a huge mess. It was just kinda disturbing that no one had come to clean it up...I hope next time we come back we have a better...
