Wahlberger, This establishment is located inside the Hollywood casino, so no visitors under the age of 21. Thought I would see what all the hype was about.
I ordered the “Our Burger.” It has a beef patty with cheese, onion, slice of tomato, shredded lettuce, dill pickle chips, and a special sauce. Also added an order of tatter torts and a chocolate shake.
The chocolate shake had good flavor, tasted more like a chocolate malt. I feel the $7.95 price was a little high for the small/medium size received.
The tots were fried to a golden brown, giving the outside that nice crunch you like to hear when biting into the Tot. They were hot, with a nice balance of outside crust and warm potato inside. They did not come with any dipping sauce, nor could I find any ketchup. They were busy so I did not pursue obtaining ketchup as I wanted to enjoy them while warm. The tots were prepared and tasted like any other tatter tot, but could have benefited from some additional seasoning or sprinkle of salt.
Unfortunately the star of the meal fell short of my expectations. It definitely looked appealing, but my high hopes were dashed upon first bite. The beef Patty was tasteless lacking any kind of seasoning. Not certain whether the beef is prepared daily on-site or comes in on a truck, but either way any ground beef requires salt and pepper. The bland burger was over powered by the dill pickle chips. The special sauce was not able to provide enough flavor to boost the burger’s flavor. However the sauce did expedite turning the he bun into a soggy mess. For the money I have had more flavorful burgers from Red Robin or Five Guys. As much as I would like to rank this meal as average, I feel I cannot based upon...
Read moreDisappointing. We went to the new store in Hollywood casino on the second day they opened. First disappointment was seeing that this is counter service only. We were not really hungry, so I ordered two burgers and 2 drinks. The bill comes to a little over $40! I just got instructions to pick up order further down the counter, so we moved on down and waited. The pick up area is shared with Take 2 Grill, same workers handing out food for both places. I waited about 10 minutes, while chatting with 3 or 4 other about how long the wait was. Orders would appear under heat lamps. No attempts to find customers, some noticed food that looked like theirs and requested the order. There were 9 tv monitors, but did not see any number system. After about 15 minutes, I saw an order that looked like mine, I approached the counter and it was mine, the lady pushed it my way, but I noticed it was missing the Wahlbrewski. The workers retrieved the beer she had poured about 10 minutes earlier and put on the tray. After sitting down, I could see 2 additional monitors, displaying the name Take 2 Grill logo and numbers for orders up, and presumingly for the Wahlburger place, but not communication to confirm this. Anyways the burger was good as was the brew, not really worth the money or time. I realize this was their second day, the system needs work, still unreal price for 2 smallish burgers, a small 12 ounce shake and beer, served by...
Read moreNot worth the price or wait, bad value. They are around $11 a burger, and even though that's the price of a 4 pack at the grocery, I feel like that would be fine if it was it's own stand-alone restaurant, with it's own grill/crew/service, but it's not, it's a part of the casino's food court (which is one other in-house generic "restaurant" storefront). The burgers I also feel were smaller in size than what is sold at the store - but everything else aside, they tasted about average. Now to the slow rude service: There was only a couple in front of me, and another couple already eating, so they were fairly slow as far as incoming orders - That said, it took 20 minutes just for two burgers! I do not know the situation in the kitchen, but I don't see an excuse in two burgers taking that long with no line or wait. There were also four women working the counter doing nothing this whole time other than talking or on their phones. When my order was finally on the counter, I went up and stood there for two minutes before I was even acknowledged. BTW the couple in front of me still had not gotten their food either at this time. Made me wonder what one of the Wahlbergs would think if they were in my shoes, and this was the face of their burger chain? So disappointed, didn't even want to gamble, just left. You'd be better off...
