I really wanted to rate this location high. I'm extremely disappointed. Parking is an issue. The city needs to step in and try to help. It was very difficult to find a parking space, and it wasn't due to how busy this place was. It was due to the very cool Wright Brothers Museum across the street.
This was my 3rd time coming here trying to get something to eat. The first time here was a week after it opened, and the Filipino food was the only location serving lunch at 1130. The bar wasn't open at this time.
The 2nd time was around 1200, and parking was non-existent. The business was packed, which is a good thing, but it was so busy and crowded you couldn't move around inside. I didn't fight the crowd to order.
The 3rd time was at about 1115. The only place open was the bar and the Filipino restaurant. The pizza place was just setting up for the day. The taco shop looked open after waiting for 10 minutes because the employee was making food, he attempted to take our order. We learned it would take about 20 minutes for him to cook steak for a quesadilla. So we ordered 2 chicken quesadillas and learned it would be about a 15-minute wait due to online orders he had to make. We canceled our order.
A 25-minute (at best ) wait to place your order and then to get it at a fast food restaurant I just too long. I wouldn't wait 25 minutes at McDonalds or Tacobell, why would I wait here.
If... a hard if at that... I go back and if it's any better I...
Read moreAlthough the atmosphere in W. Social tap and table is great my experience at soca was not so great. I have eaten there several times and each time have felt not so good after eating at that establishment. The last time was Monday August 5, 2024. I had chicken and fries from SoCa about 9:30p and ended up in the ER about 2:30a suffering from what the doctor said was a classic case of food poisoning and a week later my stomach is still messed up. I woke up in the middle of the night vomiting chicken and fries, in the bathroom for almost an hour before my sister ended up calling paramedics. I blame myself for eating there again after getting sick a month before off the jerk chicken and cabbage. I WILL NEVER EVER EAT AT SOCA AGAIN. Bartender Drew is great, a bit overwhelmed on Monday night with all the demands from the karaoke people but he seems to handle the task with a smile. Drew is really an asset to the place. Karaoke, Joe and Pookie G are my reasons for being there. The entertainment is magnificent. Drew is the icing on the cake. SoCa is the only...
Read moreThis review is for Mz Jade's Soul Food. I've been to the Middletown location and only had a couple sides, and it was delicious. I was excited to try more of their menu items, but this experience was a total disappointment. The staff was professional and personable, but the food was not palatable at all.
I got five sides, and everything was overcooked. The Mac & cheese literally smelled and tasted burnt. The cabage and yams were mush. The cornbread was burnt. The only thing I ate the okra was that it was definitely overcooked compared to when I first had it. I just don't mind eating extra crispy, okra.
I know they are new to the Social Tap, and their staff is just getting acclamated to the new space, but you have to make sure you are consistently putting out amazing products. I hope it gets better in time, but I will not be trying them again...
