This is a good National Historical Park. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. I drove here and parked in the site’s parking lot, which is near the visitor center and well maintained. I got out of my car and walked to the visitor center, which is about a minute walk away. I got to the visitor center, which is where the museum is. I went past the ranger desk in the visitor center and walked by a replica of the Wright Brother’s plane. I walked into a room which had exhibits about new inventions around the time when the Wright Brothers first flew. I then walked into another room with exhibits about the Wright Brother’s childhood and a replica of the grocery store that used to occupy the building that the museum is in. The grocery store replica had lots of canned food and cutouts of people wearing typical fashion of the time that the store was open, which was the late 1800s. After going through the grocery store I walked up to the second floor of the museum, which had exhibits about the history of parachutes. After looking at the exhibits about the history of parachutes, I walked out of the visitor center and went to a nearby building which was the Wright Brother’s workshop. It had some exhibits about innovation and engineering, but they weren’t as good as the exhibits in the visitor center. After I went to the Wright Brothers workshop, I walked back to my car and drove away, satisfied with my experience. I gave this National Historical Park five stars because it has nice exhibits that are very...

Dayton Aviation Heritage commemorates three exceptional men—Wilbur Wright, Orville Wright, and Paul Laurence Dunbar—and their work in the Miami Valley.
Through the invention of powered flight, Wilbur and Orville made significant contributions to human history. In their Dayton, Ohio, bicycle shop these two men, self-trained in the science and art of aviation, researched and built the world's first power-driven, heavier-than-air machine capable of free, controlled, and sustained flight. The Wrights also perfected their invention during 1904 and 1905 in their hometown of Dayton.
Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park is a partner of the Paul Laurence Dunbar State Memorial. Paul Laurence Dunbar achieved national and international acclaim in a literary world that was almost exclusively reserved for whites. This gifted and prolific writer produced a body of work that included novels, plays, short stories, lyrics, and over 400 published poems. His work, which reflected much of the African American experience in America, contributed to a growing social consciousness and cultural identity for African Americans in the...
Read moreToday, our family took flight (historically speaking!) at the Dayton Aviation National Historic Park 🛩️. The whole crew - wife, son, daughter, niece, and nephew - were propelled into the fascinating world of Orville and Wilbur Wright, the visionary brothers behind mankind's leap into the skies.
Every corner of the park whispered tales of their bicycle shop days and the groundbreaking experiments that set the stage for modern aviation. And let me tell you, the Jr Ranger Program is top-tier! Skillfully designed to engage young minds, it had our kids hooked from the get-go. The challenge booklets, interactive tasks, and badges added a sense of adventure to our visit.
A special shoutout to the park rangers: their enthusiasm was infectious! Not only were they fountains of knowledge, but their upbeat and engaging approach made our experience truly memorable. The stories they shared at Huffman Prairie Flying Field painted such a vivid picture that we could almost see the Wright brothers taking off on one of their test flights.
In summary, Dayton Aviation National Historic Park isn't just a lesson in history; it's a celebration of human ambition, dreams, and the sheer will to soar. Pack your curiosity and get ready for a day filled with fun and learning! 🌌...
