Utterly disappointed. I would not even give this place the single star that Google makes you give. Visited Holy Cluck for the first time in Dearborn Heights with 19 of my family members around 9 pm for dinner. The food was really disappointing - oily chicken pieces fried in what obviously seemed like really old oil. Several of my family members didnāt even want to eat the food once they received it. We are talking about elders and kids who are not at all picky eaters.
Spending money at Holy Cluck was totally not worth it at all. What made the experience even worse is that the staff at the checkout was rude and seems to really not care nor wanted to serve customers. The Kitchen staff in the other hand: the two young men working inside were working quickly and turned around the food within a decent wait time.
I realize working at restaurants is not an easy job but my suggestion to the owner would be to try to find employees who are happy about working at his restaurant. Employees who are welcoming and friendly to the customers. As employees who do not realize that customers bringing in their business is what makes restaurants successful and profitable for the owners are just not good for business. I for one will never go back to this establishment after this experience because after my experience last night Thursday August 25th, we all left the place feeling we had been robbed of almost $300-400 and wished we had not gone out for dinner at this place. Almost every family members afterwards was asking who suggested this place anyway?
The quality of food is not at all at the level of other restaurants in the Dearborn Heights area, for example Dave Hot Chicken who serve the same type of choices of food with much better tasting and quality of food at even a cheaper price.
The staff at Holy Cluck also refused to take additional orders of Milkshakes or drinks from family members who didnāt like the food and could not eat it and wanted to order a milkshake another item instead at 9:45 pm as the counter staff had already started cleaning the restaurant before their closing time of 10:00 pm.
I myself am a foodie and do not mind spending money on food. But I left the place frustrated as we could have eaten better food at home or should have gone to a tried and tested place. I am not looking for anything from the owner except they hopefully will not become defensive and take this as constructive criticism to improve their restaurant so other customer like me will not have the same experience in the future. I know we will not be going back after our experience. Hopefully the owner can take action to save his future customers.
I usually do not write review on google unless I have a really good or bad experience. Therefore writing this review to share with others who have not been to this place and share with them what our first experience was like at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is what you think of a typical order at the counter. Get your food. Get your own drink. And your own refills. Sit down. Wait. Get your food. Eat and leave. However. What we got was even better. Come inside. Menu is simple. Easy to understand. Couple of different chicken options. As a sandwich. As a wrap. As a topping. As a shake. I See the āMac Cluckinā. A fried chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese. Ranch. And coleslaw. Ask the cashier if I can have it as a Nashville Hot. Itās not shown as an option but they jump at the request and make it happen. A non issue. No āHem and Hawinā. They just got the request and made it happen. Done. Also get some waffle fries and a couple of sauces. Place is clean. Didnāt use the restroom so I canāt speak to that. Service so far is great. No issues. Sit down and wait. The party of 8.5 Iām with have all individually ordered. ((The .5 is my new nephew Iām meeting for the first time. His name is Crosby and heās awesome)) Food is getting out within about ten minutes per time of order. Back of my mind says Iām about to get some precooked chicken patty dipped in sauce and reheated to a dry bite. Just for some background information. Iām 41. Yet. This is the juiciest chicken sandwich I have EVER had in my life. And Iām from and currently living in Kentucky. Pretty much famous for Fried Chicken. Also. Chicken is not only juicy but she be thicc. Nashville seasoning is that perfect mixture of hot spicy brown sugar style. Crisp out side. And. While I had originally didnāt see the sandwich had slaw on it, it added a creamy crisp to the sandwich. And the Mac and cheese just elevated it more. The waffle fries were fresh and crunchy and well seasoned. The ranch was not some lame hidden valley. Felt fresher. And their Carolina sauce was a mix between honey mustard with a vinegar tang. Iām assuming to be a version of the Carolina Bbq sauce. Which it was. However, I had originally ordered it because I was thinking it was a Carolina reaper dipping sauce. Only gripe I had. Add some descriptions to the sauces you provide for dipping that you charge extra for. I have no idea what holy sauce or bushki sauce was. But between the Carolina and ranch? It was hard to decide which one I was going to dip a fry into next. Now. For the cherry ontop. What made the service even better was as we were finishing up and about to leave a woman from their team walked over and asked us how it was and if we needed anything else. And while this may seem like something that should just be expected. It was very much appreciated. Because most places like this move on once you get your food. I would absolutely eat here again. Prices are mid to high. But...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has so many things wrong with it. Online it looks amazing in person is a totally different experience. The food is OVERPRICED junk and I mean that. I'm not one to do reviews but I paid $50 for 8 wing dings, a shake, cheese fries, and a chicken sandwich. That's NOT the main issue the food quality was VERY CHEAP and did NOT match the price. None of the food had any seasoning or flavoring besides the sauce you choose. The fries are in close comparison to McDonald's.... The shake was $10 for a special shake that is all "looks" they just add 2 small cookies or brownies etc. I'm almost 100% sure they use frozen chicken and possibly all their meat products I've had that quality chicken at a ton of places š® some of the cheapest you can get typically sold at middle eastern establishments and the sauce didn't make it any better. Also, they charged me $2 for ea sauce I got on my wings without mentioning it. Mind you I wanted the sauces combined. The wait was at the bare minimum 20 minutes when there was only like 3 people in the store and they had ordered already š Overall, this was a horrible experience I drove from Ohio about 1hr drive there and 1hr back. While I'm very disappointed I think they have a lot of potential if they care enough to satisfy their customers or maybe they're doing fine with their culture but not too many people are going to willingly support them consistently... it will be a one time experience for those who care about QUALITY. If I could add my receipt I would the total was $46.86. Overall, I honestly wouldn't recommend this...
