UPDATE (2022) I really loved Big Moe's. I've eaten here at least 10 times. However, I can't swear by it anymore because the quality has started to go down. The Brisket Fries were their BEST item on the menu! When I got an order recently, it was lukewarm (almost cold) and slid to the side of the container. It tasted bad. I hope it gets better, but for now I'm taking a break from eating here.
I'll leave my previous reviews up. I just want to caution people: your experience will either be good, filling food or weirdly cold food.
#1: I'm a first time customer + order via DoorDash, yet they left a very strong first impression! I ordered the "Loaded Brisket Fries" and "Teriyaki BBQ Chicken Egg Rolls". It tastes amazing! I let 2 other people try both items, and they said on a scale of 1-10, it's a strong 8 or 9! I love the brisket; got me drooling forreal. They're making delicious food over here. If you like to fill up on fries + bbq, try this place!
#2: My family orders from this place A LOT now. Brisket fries, bibimbap, egg rolls are still Bomb! But I wanted to talk about their "Sweet + Sassy Chicken Sandwich." It tasted fine at first, but I slowly started feeling grossed out. They used a soft, thin bread, which caused the sandwhich to fall apart. Also, the chicken itself tasted dry and burnt on some ends. Unlike their crunchy slaw for other dishes, their slaw on that tasted very wilted. I will never order that again - but their other popular meals are...
Read moreMan… this was my first time ordering from here, and the order was already wrong. I told them—no tomatoes, no veggies—just mayo and barbecue sauce. Simple. And they still got it wrong. That just ruined everything for me.
I used to eat at this one spot almost every day after work. I’d stop by, grab my food, go home, eat, sleep—same routine, every day. And they never got my order wrong. Not once. That’s why I kept going back. That’s the kind of trust I had in them.
But with this wrap, I couldn’t even eat it. I can’t just take the tomatoes off and pretend like it’s all good. The flavor’s already soaked in, it’s not the same. I didn’t even want a whole new sandwich—I just wanted to switch it for something else. That’s it.
And it wasn’t even about the mistake, honestly. It was the way it was handled. When I called and explained, she said, “bring the sandwich back.” Not in a mean way, but in a way that made me feel like she didn’t believe me. Like I was lying or tryna get over. That hurt. I’m not that type of person. I wasn’t asking for anything free—I don’t believe in that. I just wanted what I ordered.
I was starving. I ended up going to sleep hungry. And honestly… that’s what really got to me. I gave this place a shot, hoping I’d find a new spot to go to, but nah. I’m going back to where I was. The place that always got it right. This is exactly why I hate trying something new. It’s not even about the food anymore—it’s the disappointment that hits...
Read moreWe came here on our annual trip to Michigan. We came to do some shopping in Dearborn, and started getting hungry. I wanted to get a shawarma, but we thought--let's do something a little different. So we ended up going over here to try the 5 piece chicken tender and fries, the almond chicken with the rice and veggies and of course, a fattoush.
First of all, I absolutely love Dearborn for having so many halal options. This place is no exception. I did notice how many to go orders there were on a weekday during lunch. It was quite a few. The place inside wasn't that busy, but people kept going in and out to pick up their to go orders, so we took it a a sign that must mean that they were good.
The almond chicken was more expensive than we expected, because online, it said it was $17, but in the restaurant it was $22. Okay, no harm, no foul, but it's something to take note of.
Although I have to say, I like the chicken tenders with fries better. The spicy mayo sauce was good, as was the avacado type sauce. The fattoush was great and the small was big enough for both my husband and I. Adding the chicken tenders to the fattoush was a great choice. Although the total was higher than we expected, I appreciate their customer service-- they were sweet and gave us drinks on the house. That kind of customer service keeps us coming back for more, and I'm sure I will...
