I recently had the pleasure of dining at astoria and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. A friend of mine and I (both of us black) were looking for somewhere to sit down and eat in Dearborn. We decided on this place because we were in the mood for Indian and they had a buffet and we thought it would be cool to try it. As soon as we walked in we thought maybe the staff (3 or 4 Indian men from late 20's to late 30's) were giving us weird looks but didn't think much of it after a moment or two. There was a group of older white people eating at a table near by and besides them we were the only ones in the dining area for the buffet. We got our plates and picked out food and sat down to eat. We could kind of feel the staff watching us as we ate but just chatted and tried to enjoy our food. As soon as the group of older white people left the staff of the restaurant cut off the lights in the buffet dining area and left us sitting in the dark to finish our meals. They continued to watch us as we were shocked and it was hard for us to finish our food due to the insult. We graciously got up and left what was left of our meals on the table and headed for the door. Noone said anything to us as we left out as it was obvious they wanted us to leave. We had already paid upon arriving so they had our money and we just counted our losses and left. It was very disheartening. I promised myself I would write a review on here so that others can avoid this place. While they obviously tried to humiliate us I told myself as I left with my head held high that I would have the last laugh as my Google reviews get millions of views. Never name a restaurant as india resturant without having a proper chef. Went her for lunch buffet with trusting the reviews and publicity, and it was a disaster. Food Quality is worst and buffet was not having any quantifiable food.n

2. Starters - Baby corn Manchurian, baby corn was sliced like onlions and just fried
3. Pakora - worst, not even fired properly
4. Pani Poori - we dont know where is Pani, every time we need to ask
5. Chicken Starters - Bins were empty
6. Paneer Tikka - No Paneer found, only gravy was there
7. Chicken Tikka masala - Its hard to find chicken
8. Chicken Masala - 4 pieces in whole bin
9. No roti, after asking they brought tandoori roti and named as Butter Naan. DOnt bluff with indians
10. Chicken Biryani - Its the best
11. Fruit custard - Cocoa powder mixed with condensed milk
12. Mysore bonda - not at all soft

Buffet starts at 11:#0, we were there at 11:45 witihn 15 mins the food was cold and all bins were mostly empty. It means food is not fresh.

When you are not ready to eat quality food with quanity, and get looted with money, Yes........ This is best Option.
