Been buying very ok food and tipping 20-70% (depending if I'm alone or not) at this coney for about 15 years or so..until today: [I moved 3years ago] Having an hour to do nothing in town I stopped in, joined spaciously two other patrons at the counter. Ordered oddly pricey for the size some french fries and a water. Fries were hot and fast but they weren't worth 3.45 for the amount given. Still with half my fries left, trying to eat slowly, my water went dry, gave me a lot of ice. I sat at the 1st seat across the expediting window where half a dozen different employees walked passed me, some more than once. I was on the phonewith a friend so I said aloud to where the close standing staff could hear me say "..would it be rude if i refilled my own water.." After minutes passed and my patience already short from an injury 9[10] weeks ago, I felt it best not to talk to them and refilled my own water. Body language of two servers when they noticed i don't work there was not apologetic, like I'm in their way..my back hurts and i needed a break from driving and DidNot want to go far from my kids school for an hour. There were plenty open seats, and small orders I tip better, lady, for service i would've left 5-6 dollars for my too small, didn't enjoy the2nd half, didn't finish eating, fries. Only thing said to me after I served myself was "are you done with that". I wasn't but quickly opted to pay, paid card so management would see her tip and leave. Wisest I didn't complain right then, I was obviously unwelcome. I was keeping to myself, uncomfortable, in pain, and thirsty, listening to headphones or on a phone call. [Got home after kiddo pickup and got toe cramps-weird, twas dehydrated, so I hydrated and walked it off, in my brace, thx Senate] I've been a waitress before, YouCant guess the good tippers. I wanted a seat and a snack. Some 15 years. Oh well. My money is welcome at any other coney island..yea, I like finding a regular spot but I tip nice because servers don't like small order regulars because oftenthey tip poorly if at all. Saved by the bell, gtg.
Btw, I'm a foody but not of restaurants. When i eat out i eat cheap and tip well. There's nothing a Coney in Dearborn can make that compares to my dinners at home, I've an Instagram devoted to it, followed by Chefs worldwide. I simply wanted a seat and was willing to pay...
Read moreThis is the best diner type restaurant I've ever been to. Firstly it's clean, the dining area is neat, orderly and well taken care of. When you come in the wait staff is friendly and, most importantly, very quick. Every time I've gone there the wait staff has attended to me, taken my order and returned with my food in 15min. The food itself has been very good as well. The first time I went there I got a BLT ($4) which actually had a satisfying amount of bacon on it which is something many places will mess up. The second time I went there I order a small Chicken Caesar Salad ($6) which was easily the best Chicken Caesar Salad I have ever ordered in a restaurant. The lettuce was all very green and fresh and broken into just the right side of pieces, the dressing was on the side by default, the chicken was well seasoned but not in such a way that it through off the flavor of the dish and it was well cooked, the Parmesan cheese was just the right amount and the salad overall was very generous in proportional for being a "small" size. Also all their salads come with a warm piece of pita bread which was delicious but would have made for an excellent Chicken Caesar Salad Gyro if you're into something like that. Overall I've had an extremely positive experience with their facility, staff and food so I would...
Read moreEvery time I come here I’m paying a different price for the SAME MEAL!! One days it’s $15.79, $12.34, $13, $15 and now $17.56 FOR THE SUPREME SKILLET SUB TURKEY SAUSAGE, no egg! Today, I ordered the same thing, placed the order before I started my job. BUT There’s egg pieces from previous orders that has gotten in my skillet. Of course, I called to have it replaced as I HATE THE SMELL of eggs! They answered, tell me I have to bring it back up there so that he can see it, as I’m explaining that I couldn’t come up there at the moment bc my I started my route, the phone hangs up! I calll back and a nice lady picks up but THEN I hear the COOK in the background YELLING “there’s no egg in there” “she want it replaced bring the food back” some on some so forth. The employee comes back to the phone and says “yeah he’s still yelling you have to bring it back today” UNPROFESSIONAL! I’ve been going to this place everyday for past 3 weeks, but today was my final straw! I’ll take my money to another Coney Island that appreciate my business and have no problem making it right! Instead of all that damn yelling he did! Clean the GRILL PROPERLY NEXT TIME and you won’t get complaints! But I won’t be back! Bad business and I have TERRIBLE taste in my mouth from this...
