The Spot — Restaurant in Dearborn

EDIT: Second time round, not so good. Husband arrived and he said there were about 3 people in line. Not near as many as there was before when we first went. He made his order and asked how long the wait will be, they said about 15-20 minutes. Then he waited 45 minutes. Turned out the guys who run the truck hooked their friends up who called in a bunch of food to pick up, even though when the guys arrived my husband overheard they called it in well after my husband put his order in. Its just bad business and disrespectful to do that to a customer who arrived, ordered and then patiently waiting for their meal. We didn't think we ordered that much, 3 shrimp tacos, 3 steak tacos, one order of wings and one crunch wrap. Especially when they said it would be 20 mins. Now if they were to respond to this review, I would hope they actually take what they did into their business model to correct it from happening again to someone else, versus just saying "We apologize that you did not have the best experience come back gives us visit on us and will make sure we change your mind brother have blessed day" but not actually changing their actions for future clients. We are over 50 mins away from their location and we genuinely didn't mind waiting 45 minutes the first time because we understood they were dealing with a high volume of customers. There's no excuse for the second time considering how slow they were that night. We feel the experience ended up affecting how we felt about the food, it was like, yea, we don't need to go back there again. Not for a long wait like that, not worth the wait especially considering the treatment my husband experienced. Its just plain rude. Be careful guys, bad reviews add up.

Came at the recommendation of Keith Lee. The Shrimp birra tacos were our favourite! The wings were actually super succulent and not dry at all. The beef tacos could use some extra sauce because you get a LOT of beef which isn't a bad thing but it's pretty meaty so you kinda need something to wash it down with. The consumé isn't something I'd get with the meal again, I felt that things were great on its own. Oh and the Cheeto supreme crunch wrap was DELICIOUS but I had to take the hot Cheetos out because they didn't really add much to the wrap tbh, they got soggy real fast and it was BOMB without the chips inside, also a favourite of ours. Reply to the owner: I visited on July 6th, and you were out of shrimp that day. Regardless of the date, the chicken I had was not good. The issues I mentioned in my review still stand, and I hope you take this feedback seriously to improve your service.

Saw The Spot on social media and the food looked great in the pictures. The setup is surprisingly nice for a spot behind a gas station, with picnic tables, fake grass, string lights, and umbrellas. But getting there? The road could wreck your car's suspension.

When I got there, there were about three orders ahead of me. The guy took my number and said he’d call in 20 minutes when my order was ready. Forty-five minutes later, no call. I went to check, and he said, “almost done.” Fifteen minutes after that, I finally got my food, only to find an entire meal missing! When I asked how long it would take to make the missing items, he said 15-20 minutes. Um, no thanks!

I ordered four crunch wraps with three fries and asked for one of each French fry seasoning. We got Cajun on all of them. So, over an hour later, I show up with the food I was supposed to bring to my friends, missing one entire meal, and it wasn’t even good! The chicken crunch wrap was 80% breading with barely any chicken, and the steak was not steak.

The guy at the counter looked like he was just there for a paycheck, probably working for family and couldn’t care less if customers were happy. His “ma bad gimme 15” shoulder shrug when I asked about the missing meal was so annoying. Definitely not coming back!

Decided to try this place one Aug 4 2024 due to seeing some nice review and videos from some popular guys on social media advising that its amazing. *spoiler alert. (it was not good)

First issue The service

Went with some freinds 5 of us orderd at the same time, waited like the gentleman said would be 30 min. We each recieved our food 15 min apart. So when 1 guy would get his food, he'd either have to wait and let his food get saugy or just eat alone. The guys working ther also got some items mixed up and wrong. Seemed like they where not properly organized. As well as the food would sit on the window and they would not call ur number or name. You'd have to go up to the window and ask if it’s ready. So some of our food was prob sitting for couple minutes. Not a deal breaker, however pretty annoying,

Second issue: The food.

Once we recieved the food,( birria crunch wrap, chicken Crunch wrap. And Birria tacos, )

The chicken used in the crunchwrap is the lowest quality frozen store bought batterd chcken that they use. You can tell right away its low quality chicken.

The birrya tacos where just decent. Not even close to how the social media guys said how it would be.

And the beef crunch wrap was actualy pretty good. However they added hot cheetos in all our crunchwraps without asking us if we wanted them in it or on the side,
