Nice decor but terrible service and over priced generic food. Believe me, I KNOW Italian food and hospitality and paisan, this ain't it. Maronn... I don't even think they have any Italians working there. One look at the waitresses, the service, and the food being served and forgetabout it, I knew this was no real Italian restaurant. We were going to leave without ordering but since we were already at the table, we decided to order something simple to be polite. So, my wife and I order two glasses of sodas, a Calzone, an Italian salad with ranch dressing and a pie. The sodas alone were $4.50 and no one cared to offer a single refill. After about 15 minutes, this country waitress appears with a plain mostly lettuce filled salad that looked like a 12 year old threw together. She served it with two little plastic containers (the cheap type you get at a diner) of light ranch dressing. Bare in mind, my wife specifically asked for Ranch dressing, not Light Ranch dressing. But the waitress couldn't care less. Disappointed, my wife asked for oil and vinegar and the waitress walks away and returns with a dressing stand containing a small vinegar bottle and a completely empty oil bottle and again walked away. At this point, I'm ready to call the manager over but I'm willing to let this play out and see just how bad it gets. So we just looked at each other and shook our heads and laughed. Ten minutes later the waitress showes up with an over cooked Calzone. Ten minutes after that, my pie arrives which i don't even open up for fear of what my reaction would be. During this entire time, no one asked if we were ok, which we clearly were not. We sat another ten minutes waiting for them to bring the check and box they basically threw on the table instead of placing the food in the box for us. They then thanked us for coming and left again for us to wait another ten minutes for them to come back and take our payment for the bill. Now, Let me educate you on real Italian restaurants where i come from.... First of, there are actually real Italian people working there. Second, from the minute you walk in, you're welcomed, spoiled and treated like family. Great attention to detail, cleanliness, hospitality and timeliness. Waiters not even assigned to your table will check in on you. You could see and smell if of an abbondanza of mouth watering authentic Italian food being served. They'll door you at a candle lit clean linen dressed table. As soon as you sit, BAM!.. freshly baked bread with a plate of dipping oil (or sauce as we call it up north). Two glasses of lemon water... And the waitor/waitress immediately shows up and introduces themselves and let's you know the food and drink specials. They take your bar or beverage order, come back shortly to take your food order and frequently check in on you. A Manager will also greet you and check in on you to ensure your needs are being quickly attended to and that the quality of food and service is met with your complete satisfaction. Fresh delicious food and impeccable service... THAT is what Italians pride themselves on because Italians see the culinary/dining experience as a true art form. Even and especially at the smaller mom and Mom and Pop places. It's a reflection of culture, beliefs and the love they have for family and friends. If you've ever dined at any decent Italian restaurant up north, you know this is true and you have no qualm paying a premium for this kind of food and service. But to pay a premium and get the kind of service and food I got at this place.. forgetabout it....I won't ever go back and I definitely won't recommend it to anyone. Goodfellas? This place wouldn't last 6 months in Tottenville Staten Island. Oh and by the way, as expected, the pie was average at best. It's easy to see that the focus in this establishment is not in the set of servicing but in running a cash cow taking from locals that wouldn't know Italian food and service from a...
Read moreGave this place a second chance tonight with my grandmother and little one. And once again the food was delicious but the service very poor. The first time we came we had bad service as well but decided give another chance since the food was great. Our waitress was nice but clueless and lost. Won’t say her full name but “K” I believe her name started with. We ordered the meatball appetizer and our meals. Bread came out than waited awhile for my salad and my grandmothers soup waitress was no where to be found and had to track her down cause we had no utensils to even eat the starters with. I asked nicely for silverware and to my surprise instead of saying oh sorry about that said oh yeah I can get it. Also needed a refill reminded her again which happen once more later on. I’m eating my salad and I see our waitress go to another table and try to give them meatballs I figured they ordered them too nope I here them say not ours she goes back to the kitchen . I finally flag her down and say were those suppose to be ours she said oh maybe the tickets got messed up. Brings us the meatballs that are now Luke warm but I wasn’t going to have her remake them it had already taken so long. Then I had to ask for plates. And a few minutes later our food came out didn’t even get to really eat the appetizer took it home. Dinner was delicious, finished and once again nowhere to be found she only had two other tables. She never took any dirty dishes away at any point and having a little one trying to grab everything doesn’t leave much space. Flagged another waitress down who by the way was fabulous I watched her in the background and she was point on wish we had her cause this is two times now bad service. She got us to go containers . Then finally she came over and we paid ready to leave then the most disappointing part of the night happened. I have a stroller and my grandmother has a cane. There was two girls at the pizza podium and one girl at the regular podium and our waitress talking to the pizza maker. Not ONE person offered to hold the door open!? There was no one to be seated no phones were ringing. But as I’m struggling with door the girls say how cute the baby is…. Would asked for a manger didn’t see one once go by. Maybe one day we will try again or wait for that woman who...
Read moreWe've been coming here for several years. Mostly it has been to-go dinners carryout. We've also have in the past dined in a couple times. However, it was probably at least twice a week. We never had a problem food was hot, good portions, and the service was good. Now due to a lot of changes happening at home with my parents we just completely stopped ordering food. So needless to say it's been a while they even remodeled it a little bit. My mother, and I come and decided that we were going to dine in after visiting my dad. We come in , and we're both starving. Mom starts to order her drink and food so I just decided to get the same as her and also ordered the garlic knots. Mom got a Caesar salad and I got the house hers was good mine was warm and wilted. Ok garlic knots actually really good no complaints . Ok the Entrees Lasagna when it came out I was completely shocked it was half the size we're used to. Now mind you we both got the lasagna. I start to tear it up because I'm starving! Well there wasn't anything but, cheese and sauce! It literally had one noodle! See the picture. Mom she was eating like a bird barely touched her food. However, hers was the same way. I think the waitress came once to check on us! So when she did finally come at the end I was totally shocked when my mom asked to speak with the manager. My mother NEVER does that! The waitress kinda got a attitude when mom said that we tried to show the waitress. The manager comes and she's like I can only take half off because you ate it ate what there wasn't anything there to eat but, cheese and sauce! Anyways the manager was a very young lady, and clearly didn't care. So my mother shocked me again when she told the manager I'm sorry but, we've been coming here for years, and I'm going to have to leave you a review on Google! So needless to say we won't be...
