My first experience with House of Gyros was decent though my most recent experience at the establishment was horrendous. I ordered the Italian beef sandwich and requested it with hot giardiniera. The beef sandwich was good though they put way too much hot giardiniera on it. I returned on my next visit and ordered the same though instead of requesting the hot giardiniera on the sandwich I requested it be on the side. The response to my request was that it would cost $1.00 extra if I wanted it on the side. In amazement I reponded and explained I would provide a container to put the giardiniera in or they could put it on the side of the sandwich though I didn't want it on the sandwich because it didn't work out well from the time before. The cashier asked the owner if he would consider waiving the charge though he would not. As a matter of fact, he was very rude and his customer service skills, to say the least, were sub-par. To reiterate, I did not request extra giardiniera. I requested the giardiniera that is included with the sandwich be placed next to the sandwich. It is my decision to take my business elsewhere and I would urge anyone who reads this to weigh out there options before choosing...
Read moreFries under cooked not crispy.. cheese sauce taste funny (old ) Italian beef dry (even dipped ) and they refused to sell me a cup of juice to dip Proceeded to aggressively tell me how they’ve been open 30+ years and never sold the juice in dipping cups .. 😅while, that may be so. They should start. The Italian beef was the only thing that might’ve been OK if I would’ve been able to dip it in some flavor and moisture.
Chicken tenders look like they were Generic chicken patties cut in half tasted the same Not impressed with the price of $30 for one adult and one toddler . (Two meals)
it took me years to even bother to try this place because the atmosphere and environment does not make it look that appetizing. But it’s been around my whole life and I’ve heard people say it’s good so I tried it. I probably won’t be returning for the rest...
Read moreDining room was closed. The street facing sign was completely missing, and the lot is in bad shape. Had I not seen cars in the drive-thru, I would had driven on believing it was permanently closed!
I had the gyro plate. Like others had said, there is a plethora of meat. It is kept warm in a steam table, not shaved from a spit. Meat was good, but missing the char flavor a spit shaved gyro offers. Fries were good, and was given plenty of ketchup. Drive thru attendant was very friendly.
One oddity is it came with a pickle spear buried amongst the meat.(along with the Tzatziki ("special sauce") side, tomato, chunk of feta and a mess of white onions). Pickle was tasty, once removed from the...
