Nash Barbecue (Beltline) — Restaurant in Decatur

Let me start this review by saying I’m a bbq guy. I’m a chef that operated a food truck for several years, and worked in pubs and operated smokers in England for 3 years, so I’m a bbq guy to my core. We did an order for takeout tonight. This has been the best bbq I’ve had in north Alabama for quite some time.The pulled pork portion was 8oz and plenty, it was juicy, smoked perfectly, and that vinegar sauce was the cherry on top. The mac and cheese is the truth. Best mac and cheese I’ve had from a restaurant, ever. The potato salad wasn’t my favorite, but personal preference is no reason to dock a star or knock a restaurant in a review. The ladies inside helping were friendly, answered all of our questions, and informed me if I wanted the old fashioned pound cake I’d need to visit the 12th street location, which I will be doing in the near future. My visit today to this business and service upon two to go orders, they were wrong and returned for corrections. Took 30 minutes to get food replacement or refund. Staff stated they were closing and would have to contact owner about refund. Well, after contacting owner by phone it was a bad experience and 30 minutes wait to come to an agreement to satisfactory mistake about food. For a reloaded or reopening location. My recommendation for future customers your time is important and not being put 1st draws a red flag and isn't worth my time and the disrespect for a new reload customer. I patronize businesses, that value my business with them. After, spending my hard earned money with the ability to receive good service and food! There's a need for this business to learn good hospitality for success!

First time giving this place a shot. Was a little deterred in learning they had no sauce choices, paid extra for dark meat chicken (requested thighs), spent $30 on BBQ all to make a Waffle House run. I've ate at hundreds of BBQ joints, and this one was hands down the absolute worst quality of food I've ever experienced. The "dark meat" chicken was not a thigh but more so a hot wing. It was so dry that I thought it was an over cooked breast. The only thing I can say that is nice about the place is that the young girl that took my money was quite respectful and very personable. As a BBQ enthusiast, I'll not re-visit this place. Totally disappointed! I saw all the great reviews and trusted them.
