GO ELSEWHERE! Obviously Wendy's Corporate or DeKalb, IL Wendy's management does not read these complaints or they don't care enough to do anything about it! I just tried reading all of the 1 star reviews for the DeKalb, IL location and found myself reading for over an hour! How this place has a 3.3 star average is beyond me! There have to be over 100 (1) star reviews, which I'm sure would be ZERO star revies if it were possible.
This Wendy's used to be decent until it became GHETTOville. Staff were completely ignorant and rude as hell! Absolute worst customer service! If you can't do your job right then QUIT! Nothing but attitude from workers here. One worker was lurking outside the front of the building smoking the entire time I was in line.
Arrived at 10:25 pm and wasn't able to leave until 11:10 pm with only 2 cars ahead of me when I arrived. Waited at the window to order for at least 15 minutes (should have left then, but gave them the benefit of the doubt). Got our warm drinks (without any ice) and were told to pull forward to wait for the food. Absolutely NO ice in either drink and one drink was incorrect. After waiting forever for the food, I told the girl one drink was wrong. She hesitated like she didn't want to correct it, then told me to keep it. Didn't say she'd be right back with the correct or apologize, she just walked back inside. Why would I want to keep the piss warm WRONG POP you gave me?!?!?! Had to wait another 10 mins for the correct drink because the girl was TOO lazy to hustle to fix HER mistake! She couldn't possibly come back out in a timely manner, she waited until she had the other car's order! By then ours was getting cold!

Read moreI have noticed that this Wendy's is pretty slow with their drive through service. Sometimes I have to wait at the ordering speaker for minutes without any other cars in the drive through.
But since my orders are usually pretty simple I havent had any issues with placing orders or payment at this location like many others have had.
You can also place your order online ahead of time on the app and then just pick it up in the drive through by telling them your name. This is a much smoother experience and saves time and headaches, and even lets you customize your burgers to be whatever you want without having to go over it all at the speaker.
I like their frosty cream cold brews sometimes, but sometimes they taste terrible. Its similar to the iced coffee at mcdonalds where sometimes its awful sometimes its fantastic depending on the brew that day or who prepared it.
They have some decent value combos available without even needed to order on the app. The app has added exclusive coupons and deals which is nice.
They have surprising variety in what they offer but you will pay an equally surprising price for the cheap cheese fries or such...

You could see the same employees over and over again, but now you never see the same employee twice. Bad sign: all the old employees are gone. Something changed and now good luck getting a smile. After 15 years eating at this Wendy's, I had my first confrontation with a very rude employee, she interrupted me again and again, talking over me, because she wanted me to order her way and not in the order it just popped in my head. The order came out wrong. Shocking!! During my last visit to the drive through, I complimented something in the menu, she said "ok" and closed the window in my face. A friend had a similar experience later that evening. Whatever the change was, it's not working!! Everybody I ask, they had a bad experience already but they don't know why the bad change happened.
