El Rey Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Delano

Been to this place since its opening year but last weekend felt like a slap to the face.

Last Saturday me and a coworker of mine went to this place to eat & getting to know each other. Less than an hour we got kicked out for no reason whatsoever, the waitress told us if everything’s alright (we said yes and we’re still eating). Around a couple minutes after that she came back with the bill and started asking us for a takeout box despite us NEVER asking her for the bill.

The place was empty except a few people and some in the bar area as well as a party going at the back so it was super confusing why they kicked us out. We came around 6:40 something and kicked out at 7:33 pm. I’m pretty sure you guys have customers staying there longer so why me and my coworker?

Food was good. But the service was very disappointing. Our server did a poor job providing service to us. She didn’t give us the spoon and forks we had to ask after 5 minutes the food was served and she didn’t bring the tortillas we had to ask for that too, after we got our fajitas.. and after the first time she sat us down and took our order she never came back again to ask us if we need anything.. and we wanted some more salas. She just came once the food was finished.. so she needs to do better job in being convenient.. and where we were sitting wasn’t that busy as well in the front.. it seems she not really engaged in working to make sure customers are served pleasantly. We had a family dinner there yesterday and the food was good except my nieces burger was still raw inside and once I let the waitress know she just said sorry not let me have them make her another or let me take it off the bill considering she took two bites and said it didn’t taste good. She never came back to refill any of our drinks, or refill our chips and salsa and It took forever to get the bill. It was super disappointing considering my husband and I had dinner there the night before and the waiter was nice but when he served us our food he never gave us utensils and it took a bit to get some, he never brought more salsa for our food.
