Not impressed. Would have thrown almost everything away and ask for a refund but we had a to-go order.
Wanted to grab a drink- apparently someone didn't think to hire anyone thats legally old enough to sell alcohol at a place that sells alcohol.
The smoothie I purchased in lieu of an Ice cold beer tasted like a cross between bar soap- like Irish spring, and some Tajin seasoning- without the capsaicin.
Can’t tell if someone tossed an entire dragon fruit with the skin on, or an aged orange peel- not the zest, not the good part of the orange, just the peel- the whole peel. I went from 3 to 1 stars really fast, and I love dragon fruit and coconut.
The sweet potato fries were burnt. Some of them could have been used as charcoal. The avocado was hard as a rock- I bent the spoon trying to scoop some out.
Then the burger. The shear disappointment of being completely stomach growling hungry and wanting really anything that would taste good after everything else wasn't even the worst part. The only thing edible here was the bun and toppings. The bun was good, but I think they get these from a local bakery. The patty was revolting.
It tasted like someone left a chunk of meat uncovered in the freezer, rough ground it with some chunks of rubber, let it sit in the cooler until close to its expiration date, smashed it flat, and then overcooked the %*^% out of it.
Servers seemed nice. Originally I was just annoyed with the beer, but that was definitely the worst smoothie I've ever had. Probably worst food experience in Sioux Falls. Friends that we met up with shortly after had similar experiences with the bison burger- said it was small, tasted...
Read moreI LOVE the concept of this cafe - healthy, high quality ingredients served in a fast casual setting. And this place has a lot of things going for it with a few major downsides.
First, the atmosphere is great. Bright, airy, clean with plenty of seating (main floor, patio and even has an upstairs). And, the açaí bowl (we ordered two of them) was genuinely one of the best I’ve had - creamy, rich and delicious topped with fresh ingredients.
Unfortunately, the location left a few items to be desired. Most frustratingly, their hours online (Google and their website) were incorrect. So we made a trip across town on a Saturday afternoon with three small kids in tow just to find a sign taped to their door notifying patrons of their updated hours. This was frustrating, as we had checked Google and their website and both, along with the permanent hours on their door, had the old hours listed. So maybe call before you visit?
Second, the service left a lot to be desire. There were three young girls there when we visited and all were on their phones at one point or another during our visit. They were not rude, but could benefit from some training in providing a warm, welcoming experience for patrons, especially when they are paying $80 for a meal out.
Which brings me to my final point - the prices. I realize with high quality ingredient, you’ll end up paying more, but we ended up paying $80 for breakfast for our family of two adults and two toddlers (baby had nothing) ordering two açaí bowls, two entrees, a coffee...
Read moreI'm deeply disappointed to have to write this review, because I like to support healthy places. This restaurant used to be really great, aside from the fact that it was a bit expensive (though worth it, considering it was very healthy, a lot of organic, and relatively creative in the menu options).
However, at some point in the last year, they changed everything. The prices have remained too high, and the quality and offerings have gone way down. The name suggests healthy food, but now their offerings include ice cream and mediocre pizza. You can't even get salads anymore.
We had a pizza and an acai bowl. The pizza was extremely sparse on the toppings (a good 20% of the non-crust area was just exposed dough), and the only flavor was "spicy." The acai bowl was mediocre, with kiwis that were rather poor quality. It cost us over $27 for a small, badly made pizza and a mediocre acai bowl.
We have also had their "power bowls" in the past, and they undercooked the chickpeas--even after we sent it back. The bowl itself was rather flavorless aside from that.
I'm disappointed to write this review, because this place started out as an exceptional place, for the most part. Now I must say I'll be heading to Sanaa's or Pomegranate instead. Won't go back to the Daily unless they go back to doing the incredible job they were doing a year or so...
