Review based on experience 6/23 @ 12pm, ordered gluten free (as needed), found location based on past review that stated "gluten free menu". I was not paid for this review.
Atmosphere: This restaurant is nice and open and offers a patio. The booths are comfy and the tables seem spacious. The ambiance is nice for a romantic dinner, lunch with friends or co-workers, etc.
Service: Our waitress has been kind, listened, and seems to be fairly busy. Has been slow to refill beverages, take away plates, etc. (I recorded 17 minutes from empty glass to refill). Finally had to request a refill after she had stopped at the table and didn't refill. When I did, she stated "I was going to ask earlier, if you got diet or regular". This could be problematic for someone who needs Diet vs regular. We ordered the dessert at the beginning and it took almost 20 min from finishing our burger/salad to getting the dessert (waitress hadn't ordered it for us, until she picked up our plates).
Food: Appetizer- Brussels and Artichoke dip. Costs $14 for Gluten free ($10 for regular). 3/10. Dip was quite bland. Nothing that made me want more of it. It was also VERY small for $14. The "gluten free" crackers are simply flax crackers you can buy anywhere. Charged $3 for extra crackers... as there was very little.
Salad- Tuna Costs $14, 4/10. Salad was smallish, tuna was bland, very little candies oranges, had to request extra dressing because there was literally no flavor to the entire salad.
Burger- Basic Burger with added American cheese and bacon, $10 + $1 +1.50= $12.50, 5/10. From my guess, fries here are not GF as this wasn't an option. No bun available either. This was ordered for an 8yo as there was nothing else for her (she is GF). Burger is small. Asparagus is bland and the ends aren't cut off (this typically makes them chewier on the ends). She has enjoyed the Shirley temple, so that's a win.
Dessert- Panna Cotta, $6. 2/10. The candy is the only thing we could eat. The picture is literally as far as I could get. A super strong, almost "cleaner" type taste. It was very hard to get passed. Didn't finish it.
Final thoughts: I don't recommend for kids, def nothing that my child enjoys here (and she eats anything). I don't really recommend for Gluten Free options either. They have a small menu, but it's lacking range. No gluten free buns, chips, breads, pastas, pizza, etc. the few things available are burgers protein style (no bun), only 1 appetizer available, and only 1 dessert. If I return, it will probably only be for cocktails without food. Pricey for what you get both in...
Read moreThe food lacks flavor top to bottom.
Atmosphere: 4.5 stars. Nice setting. Business casual.
Food: 1.5 stars. I ordered a NY Strip. 8 oz, $22. The steak was delicious. No complaints there. However, it came with a single side with no choice: french fries. No veggies or salad or anything. Steak and french fries. If you want steak and mashed potatoes or perhaps some asparagus as a side, that's not an option. Wife ordered the seafood risotto. The risotto was bland and generally flavorless except the peas overpowered everything else. Each plate had something off: either the portion size or side options (or lack thereof) didn't justify the price or I couldn't tell whether the risotto was from 22TEN or Olive Garden in a blind taste test.
Staff: No complaints. Super friendly and professional. There wasn't a single error made and they really do take care of their customers.
Bottom line: I didn't feel like the food was memorable. Between having to eat french fries with a $3/oz steak or having risotto that tasted no different than if I made it from a box at home, I can't say we'll be back. Shame. I really wanted to like it and they have a great atmosphere with great people. Perhaps they'll get their menu figured out and I'll give em a second chance. But for now, perhaps we will split a flat bread sometime, but that's the extent of my willingness to dine there.
UPDATE: Went back a year after my original review. Similar experience. I decided to order a fish sandwich because it was marketed well. Something like "hand tossed beer battered tuna on a fresh bun with a unique Hawaiian coleslaw." I expected flavor. I got bland. For $14, I would have been better off going to Arby's and getting 4 of their fish sandwiches. Same amount of flavor. My wife got something different, but said the same: the food was bland and boring.

Read moreWanting to avoid Valentines day crowds and madness, the wife and I celebrate a day early. We made reservations at 22ten and gave it a whirl. Off the start, they lost our reservation but they didn't hesitate and seated us after I showed them my online confirmation. No harm no foul.
We ordered New Orleans cakes and Margaritas to start. Then Pork Marsala and Creole Jambalaya for entrees. The New Orleans crab cakes were super delish. Nice spicyness on the back end. Reminded me of crab cakes I've had on Bourbon street. The Margaritas for $8 were stiff as a corpse.
The Creole Jambalaya was really good but to my surprise, no spicyness at all. I like to sweat when I order Jambalaya. Specially when it has andouille sausage in it. Aside from no spice, it was superb. My wife got Pork Marsala with pearl onions. I can't even describe the deliciousness of this dish. Unbelievable.
For dessert we ordered bread pudding and a 2nd round of Margaritas. Every bread pudding I have ever eaten was a yellow bread. This was a dark pumpernickel type bread. It was so good I wanted to lick the plate.
Our waiter Josh was quiet at first but I got him to open up and he has some personality on him. Fun waiter. Genuine person for sure. I really have no complaints. I wasn't sure why the menu stated Margaritas were $7 but our bill showed $8. Other than that, with a nice 25% tip, our bill was only $130! Best deal in town for the quality and overall experience. I actually think their dishes are underpriced.
My favorite restaurant in Sioux Falls was Granite City, till now... this place is my new #1. Atmosphere to drinks to food was top notch. Definitely coming back for the Chislic and Elk Ravioli. If you're reading this and in Sioux Falls, go to 22Ten. Make reservations, it was packed on a...
